but when it comes to a jedi with aura and 900 def vs ranged its still crap. hits for 200dam roughly...
u would need ranged acc of over 900 and a weapon with min dam of 800 something to do decent dam against them.
with aim (+250 acc) acc food (+220 acc) 295 from my templates acc (inclusive mods) weapon acc of 62 i have accuracy of 827 ranged accuracy and do very good against melee cob users but against jedi defenders i do nearly no damage.

12pt crafter to put it all together.
Rifle also has a nice +17 to accuracy so puping for sac is no big loss on that.
Just a question about the stocks from BH missions. From whatI understand, there are some pre CU stocks that have -20 SAC(maybe even more) as one of the stats. BH mission stocks do not have this stat (only min/max dam, speed-which I think is busted **, and wound).
I would think that a combo of
cells/casings
pre CU advanced stocks (where applicable)
BH scope (where applicable, even tho the speed is still broken I think**)
would be a better choice. I'd have to find out what other possible components are needed (depending on weapon) to see if looted (IE themepark) or crafted (most likely pre CU) components work best in a given situation. These would include such things as pistol/rifle barrels, etc.
**On the subject of broken speed mods on BH loot (specifically scopes and stocks) the actual speed is moved over 1 decimal point in the final combine. In other words, a scope with speed of -.79 would actually be -.079 (or -.08 if the system rounds up). Speed mods on casings/cells seem to be working correctly, altho I can't confirm that firsthand.
The way "I'd" want a weapon made in the final combineis to ...
1) Cap out damage first.....damage slices are worthless. Damage pups are even worse
2) Cap out SAC second
3) Use any remaining points in speed (a real good WS will have points left over to do this)
4) Slice either speed and/or crit damage depending on how close the weapon is to being speed capped (and subsequently being triple capped)
5) Apply SAC pup...accuracy bonus is not currently working so the penalty will not apply. Even if it were working, this could be negated by a good accuracy scope.
I used the above method on an ALR and came close to being triple capped. The only exception was an odd result on damage that came up 10 or sopoints shy of being capped. Stats are:
Speed 2.17 (100% speed sliced)
Mod speed 1.26 (+24 to rifle speed in tapesfor a total of +89, total rifle speed is 139)
Damage 481-1174
Accuracy bonus 16 (not working but drops to +2 using SAC pup)
Wound 14.95% (stupid mod should be deleted at this point)
Base DPS 381
Mod DPS 655
SAC 82 (drops to 63 using 22.5% SAC pup)
Psh, don't use a Rifle, use a Nickle Plated FWG5...
Anyway, many say Trandoshan Hunting Rifle, so I'll say that, too.
haven't hunted any jedi but i've read that one with kinetic damage is your best bet.
