I agree, but I'm talking theoretically here.

To offer a somewhat useful suggestion rather than just dismissing the idea, let me throw this out for consideration:
I would consider space bounties fair IF:
-Jedi, regardless of Tier (and faction), are certed for the Jedi Starfighter.
-Bounty Hunters may only use a KSE Firespray to hunt jedi with
-First strike is removed and Jedi/BH are somehow perma overt to eachother in space, removing the first strike option and allowing a jedi to see her hunter if she's paying enough attention.
This would be fairly well balanced, as it would take a VERY good firespray pilot to track and kill a pilot in a JSF (small and disgustingly fast).
You didn't address component usage. It's not really balanced if a jedi can only load up his fast maneuverable jedi starfighter with 400 damage blasters and a 45 speed engine and a 2.0 recharge capacitor.
Yes there is space bounties but very limited for some unexplained reasoning as the DEVs usually dont have the forsight that we might want to use a KSE Firespray for bounty hunting.
Go to Kashyyyk, Land and right across from the space port there is an imperial bounty officer. If you are a bounty hunter he will speak to you. There will be two missions he gives out then he tells you to come back when you are of use to him.
FreakinWHACK if you ask me! There should be more missions like this. As a matter of fact there should be missions if you dont track them on time then they take to space in their ship.

Actually, he'll talk to you regardless of your profession. I had fun with those missions, reminded me of my old BH days...
See, the problem with reducing space PvP damage is a little tool called Capacitor to Shield Shunt 4.
I've been in PvP duels where I've hit the other guy and reduced his shields to 60% in one shot (he had very strong shields). However, I could only get one shot off at him, so within a few seconds, he was back to full shields. It can be hard to hit someone in space PvP if both participants are good. If damage would reduce, space PvP would only end when one person had to sneeze.

What a load of bs. They can't tell you that an actually make you believe it, can they? Some full temp jedi are starting to have problems with BH as it is. The only validreason they have to hate us is because we have glowing stun batons.

Space bounties vs. NPCs: Good idea
Space bounties vs. Smugglers: Possibly
Space bounties vs. Jedi: Will never happen. Here's why: Jedi get hunted on the ground for being 1.5x stronger than any other profession. If we are to be hunted in space as well, you will need to make us 1.5x stronger there. Which would be a really, REALLY bad idea.

Shunt is limited to your weapon's capacitor energy. First strike may not do anything, but the continued fire sure the heck will. Maybe 3/4 reduction is too much? I don't know. With a bit of testing..I'm sure SOE could figure outa perfect balance between damage and shunt usage so pvp space battles don't go on and on and on and on...ect.
If you can hit a moderately made ship with a half-decent pilot behind the controls with a steady stream of fire, you have my respect. With one of the most maneuverable craft in the game, I can usually get off one, MAYBE two shots when they're in my brackets before they either bank away or maneuver by my ship faster than I can follow. And as for the capacitor limit thing, as I said in my previous post, with the damage as it is now people can still heal fully in between getting hit.
Space PvP as it is is actually not too bad. If you can ambush someone, first strike means you win, but if they see you coming, you get a good 5-minute battle before someone wins. Of course, this state of affairs is not suited to BH/Jedi combat in space, due to first strike and ambush advantages, but for regular GCW PvP I don't find it half bad.
