Thread: BH's unhappy with terminal changes please submit feedback especially if your cancelling
you call me whining --thats fine i really dont care. In the end its my money to pay for my two accounts. I play for the endgame of pvp with groupmates. I cant pvp in the GCW because jedi are everywhere on both sides and it just ends up being jedi wars--not fun for me.
So I like to pvp by watching the Theed starport for loadjacking overt jedi knights that prey on normal toons. I go get thier mission specifically. Surprising them is my pvp fun since it gets in their way of ganking. Now that is gone--and while doing a few missions the new way might be "OK" --not knowing the name at all before i actually arrive is the dealbreaker for me. That is just retarded from an immersion point of view much less a strategic point of view.
So that part of the endgame is over. I refuse to join in with my jedi cuz then i would be a hypocrite. So my options are to put my money where my mouth is. I will take a break and cancel the accts (obviously once this is live and confirmed to stay) until they change things back to something reasonable or they fix Jedi in the GCW to some sort of other tier so that regular toons can be involved again much like it was on the beta testing of the Combat upgrade (god those were the days
To the person who suggested exploring other aspects of the game: been there done that--and just like you want to play jedi endgame --i want to have a reasonable pvp exeperience in mine--which will be gone. There are a ton of other games out there that can distract me for awhile.

I'm not hunting with a blindfold on for a Bob Barker prize envelope. It was fun while it lasted. On to bigger and better things.
Empire At War!
My preference is World of Warcraft, but I may have to look that one up as well. Thanks for the tip.

Yeap the changes stink pritty much across the board. There have been a few threads in the BH forum pushing for the names, faction and MBH changes. The 3 day decay seems out of the blue. The offline thing isn't exactly what we wanted (certainly easier to code), personally I think BH should have ST_U about offline and just used the old /addf /removef ...

I read that, but i still don't see why the sky is falling over here.
Jedi missions should have always been MBH
what did you want other than offline jedi not appearing on the terms? for the jedi to just log itself in when you take the mission?
The mission payouts will still be comparable if not the same, you odn't just get 52k, you get:
52k + Terminals Time Bonus + Jedi Level Bonus
a high priced mark will still be a high level jedi(Jedi level bonus), so you won't be blindly killing knights or day 1 paddies depending on luck of the draw.
you get to see faction
do you really care who you hunt beyond that?
you've all blown this way out of proportion because you have misunderstood, IMO.
kid you didnt read the notes well either ... cuz let me break it down for ya ...
" Jedi missions are only created for online Jedi, the Jedi may go offline after the mission is created "
you see that bit where it says " jedi might go offline after missions is created" you think the terms will be just full of online jedi you are wrong ... whats a jedi do after hours of grinding on kashyyk and gaining visibility? well if he aint AFK grinding .. he signs off!!
so not only will you have to manually search every single instance now without being able to use any intelligence from the BH who have gone there prior ... you may go tokashyyk and search for a jedi only to find out he logged off ...
imagine going through 7 instances ready to go into the 8th ... only to have your jedi log off!!!
imagine having to waste all those arkyds after you find a mission only to see that YOUR JEDI HAS LOGGED OFF ... cuz missions are made before the jedi logs off .. thats retarded man ... it doesnt only show online jedi

actually, i didn't make a mistake, you did once again i'm afraid. The way it's worded can be confusing, but "missions will only be created for online jedi" means only online jedi will show on the terms. the part that says "the jedi may go offline after the mission is created" is intended to clarify that your missions will stay in your datapad for the 3 day decay period.
oh, and please stop calling me "kid" you've done so on other posts and you've done so to other people. does my age really figure into my arguement in this context?
waa waa, i cant grief specific players and bottom feed any more
psh
all you should need to know is online status and faction

its there in plain english bub ...it doesnt say jedi missions will dissapear when jedi log off ... it says " jedi missions are only CREATED or online jedi" .. it does NOT say .. " only online jedi will be shown on mission terminals" it does however state ..
" JEDI MIGHT GO OFFLINE AFTER MISSION IS CREATED >>> MEANING >> AFTER THE MISSION IS PUT ON THE TERMINAL"

i may be mistaken, however i do not believe so.
a mission is created when you load up a mission terminal a the terminal creates a list of missions for you to create. that was always my understanding. I don't believe missions just sit in some big mission pool waiting for people to accept them.
and please, show me a little respect and knock off this bub and kid stuff. reliance on these epithets to make me look ignorant or inferior make you look petty, childish, and just simply a jerk
This thread looks remarkably similar to one in the Jedi forums just before Pub19 went Live.
Everyone cries and moans about cancelling and quitting cos they are getting nerfed. Funny this is, hardly anyone actually does it. So why don't we all cheer up and have a nice day, and maybe someone with half a brain will delete this useless thread.
you want to know how it works?
there is a cache of missions on the terminal.... because before pub 20 your friend can get a mission ... then you 20 minutes later get the same mission ... its frequency determined by visibility ...
there is also a seperate cache ... which generates when you open the terminal ... for instance ... a friend of mine will pass "jedi-sam" 20 times ... but neever see "jedi-jane" once ... and meanwhile while i refresh i will pass "jedi'jane" 20 times and never see "jedi-sam" once .... but if i wait a bit .. for the personilizedterminal cache to refresh .. a new set of jedi will come up during my searches .. and i will be able to see "jedi-sam"
so say i take jedi-sams mission .. and kill him .. say he wasAFK in a cloner hut on kashyyk with 5 other jedi at the time i killed him, and he respawns there... and say hes got macros running .. well since hes near the other jedi .. within 15 minutes the visability gains due to him running a macro next to another player increase to the point wheres hes listed back on the terminal ...hence a mission is created and listed in a cache regardless if you open the terminal window or not ...
now if jedi sam logged off after i killed him . or turned off his macro and hid in his house .. he wont appear on the terms ..his "mission" was never created and put into a cache .... so in turn hes name wont be forwaded to the cache a player opens up by accessing the terminal
