Well it didn't take long for the Jedi's to figure out that they could go to Avatar and spend all day there away from keyboard grinding out to full temp in a few days. When they nerf Avatar for the rest of us you can thank the Jedi's for thier exploit of a fun place to go adventuring. The same reason they had to nerf Ferral wookies is the same reasom they are going to nerf Avatar platform. For all you whiney Jedi's listening, yes its supposed to be a quest based platform, No your not supposed to be able to get to full template while afk in a few weeks. Then here it comes, Jedi' whining "but I want to be a full template knight today!" No its supposded to be an adventure to get there, not an overnight proposition. Thanks for screwing up the game for teh rest of us!

Actually what gets places nerfed are those whining about how it is being used.

They are too busy worried about how others are playing the game and when the game is not played their way they whine and say changes need to be made even though they are also capable of doing the same thing.

If you havea personal problem with AFK grinding well then let's Nerf ALL AFK grinding by eliminating the repeating macros not just picking and choosing who can or who can't.

I could care less on how other Jedi grind or non-Jedi for that matter.

They are doing everything legal within the game mechanics and not intentionally causing a bug or something to gain an advantage so your claim to Exploit is not true and majorly biased.

The adventure planet stuff is a BS copout just to complain because the Dev's have no intentions of making seeker driods work there. The seekers don't work because they want it to be a BH free planet, they don't work because they don't want to try to revamp the droids to work in an instanced environment. They are just using that excuse so they don't have to.

Ryatt trail was a problem because of the LOS bug that both sides used. I can understand the complaints over that but the ones complaining about the planet because they were just too damn lazy to go there and check the instances for their so called AFK marks are just babies and wouldn't be happy unless the Jedi was auto teleported to their location already incapped. I grinded by non-Jedi character here and if no Jedi were around to grind I'm pretty sure there wouldn't have been any complaints.

Flame away if you like as it don't matter to me.

If the Avatar was a structured instance, I'm sure no one would be complaining. But since it's not, and AFK grinders have moved their, you can understand why some Bounty Hunter's would be upset.

These debates will never end, no matter how smart or dumb the people are that are debating. It all from point of view and will always be. There's much frustration running rampid in the forum from Jedi because of the lack or power they currently have. There's equal frustraction from the Bounty Hunter's who suffer from poor droid tracking even after three years of patching.

From a Bounty Hunter point of view...

The developers responsible for the seeker/arakyd droids personally make me sick. As someone just said, they are so incredibly lazy they won't program droids work in instanced environements and pretend they don't work because of "too many lifeforms". I find it interesting that Arakyd droids can search almost 10 planets in less than two minutes yet a seeker droid can't find a target on Kashyyyk even if your mark is standing three feet in front of you. Just another example of a second choice, underpaid development crew.

The duel exploit/bug also makes me sick. We're convinced that we are supposed to have the advantage of being secret and have the first hit. Yet, Jedi's can just sit at a starport and /duel /endduel everyone who spawns at the Starport and find out which one has their mission.

I am not sure what disgusts me more though... The enormous amount of Jedi that do this, even the ones that claim to be honourable or the fact that the developers haven't fixed this in over four publishes.

Im a mbh/pistoleer been to Avatar platform a few times.. went to the avatar platform justlastnight with one Jedi and oneMelee guildmate ostensibly for exp but to also quest a bit.

I can tell you a jedi that is grinding his/her template, in other words.. not finished..probablyisnt going to afk grind anything up there.

As others have alreadypointed out the Wookies and Trandos will engage withfairly hard hitting ranged attacks which include disarming shots which can easily cause a macro to hiccup and fail.. as well as knockdown shots , they are alltagged elite which =betterdefenses, they have17k+ health and regen at a pretty good pace and they are all lvl 82-86(?) maybe higher.

Now, I am in no way shape or form defending afk grinders be they Jedi or otherwise .. but this isnt the place they'd do it.. aside from being safe from bounty hunters its just not a place that would be conducive to afk grinding.

Apparently , our Jedi was getting 1100 exp per kill ,which hewas pretty happy about.. and itkept him safe from being hunted ..right upuntil he leaves and has all that visability from killing sentient npc's

Turning Star Wars Galaxies into a first person shooter is as bad an idea as turning it into a real time strategy game.. thanks for the toilet in the middle of the living room !

Remove a macros that can loop

If macros where limited the only people AFKing would be using 3rd party apps.. since that is VERY easy to spot when the in game macro's dont work the "exploiters" would quickly disappear.

Uh...yeah...that's basically the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my entire life. I don't know what you do in this game, but any profession I've ever played has has relied a ton on macros. I use macros for things such as looting (you try double-clicking 30 stormies as you blast through the Imperial Prison), healing every 30 seconds, quicker travel (using the toolbar and a macro to instantly jump between several planets on harvester runs), and that's just the constant ones I use everyday. I won't even begin to mention all the combat macros I use. This isn't a FPS. There are too many different actions going on for the devs to force us to click every single button. Hush your pottermouth and go back to Mos Eisley.

Hehe,.that was mean. I'm sorry!

the npcs on he avatar use ranged weapons, they would stay out of range of the spin attacks and kill you.

I never said it. I never grinded afk, and I think it's not a nice thing to do, if no BH can kill you while doing it. But I'm tired of "I spent 3 months of grinding now you can get a full template in 2 days I want post-cu jedis to delet your chars this is just unfair" posts.

I did grind afk. And if I ever need to grind anything I will do that as much AFK as possible. I value my time and I'm not going to wast it for dumb, repetitive rats killing, because SOE decided that it will be fun to force me to kill billions of rats to get one more box. Grinding is not fun. I don't pay to kill rats, I pay to be able to play. Oh, and don't give me the "no one forces you to be a jedi" crap - SOE does. There is no other alpha class and after a year in this game there is nothing else for me to do. Been combat prof, been crafter, only jedi left for me.

this is the wrong forum to post a comment like that... Look at the BH profession .. the majority of "new" MBH never ran a single BH mission. I mastered BH before Vehicles. You know how cool i looked riding around tattoine on a kaadu? but back to the point ... JEDI was supposed to be tough... here is the point you can debate:

It is easier to go from Padwan to full template jedi today, than it was to Master Bounty Hunter in 2003.

I dont think so, I was a master BH way back in the day running across entire planets only to have my mark bugged and I would still rather do that then the current Jedi grind. If you dont believe me check my really old posts. Your just wrong dude. Also even back then you could Jam uplink terminals and get MBH in a few days. If you grind the long way your not honorable your just stupid.

Not really. I'd just write myself a proggie to just do that. One, that would give some miningfull responses to tells and throw in certain randomization to repetitive tasks that are required to grind. So it would not be easy to spot. So would others. Those who don't have skills to do that would just get that kind of proggies from their friends. Hmmm...I wonder...yes, please, nerf recursive macros, so I can write that proggie and then sell it on e-bay. JediGrinder v1.0b...yup, good name for it.

Just a simple question, maybe you answered it already but how do you know Jedi are AFK grinding on the Avatar? Do you send them a /tell and you get back an AFK therefore you asssume they are on the Avatar AFK grinding?

Isn't it an instanced dungeon? The NPC's up there are also elite which means 20k health, right?

If someone was going to choose to grind AFK that doesn't seem the best place to do it. I agree that if there is any valid place to AFK grind it should be removed/changed but in this case I don't really see how it's possible (but I admit I could be wrong)

Since droid dont work on Kash, how do you know they are ON Avatar?

Since it IS an instance, how do you know they are AFK?

Like many have pointed out, Avatar is NOT the best place to go AFK.

Seems like you are making a big jump in 'logic' with this one.

And no, I do not support AFK grinding of ANY profession.
