Oh and I'm MBH/MCarb/Novie Pistoleer and some FS skills. I wear 6500 Energy/Kin RIS w/ +25 AAs for all my stats. I use Duelist Stance and blind them, so I take less damage. I usually only pop a Pixie and a couple of heal stims, nothing more.

Impossible? I dont know the meaning of the word....

Yes these guys are hard but its nothing a little kiting and a little healing cant handle. If you have pets or droids USE THEM..they are a big help.

Use your bleeds because these are longer fights, and the longer a fight is the more effective your bleed is.

Use a PSG, they are a BIG help, as most of these marks use energy weapons.

USe Battle or Recon armor, Assault armor generally isnt the right stuff to be using for NPC marks (yea I know thats our certification, but what can I say, the mobs do energy damage)

Use food/dring buffs, especially synthsteak

Go for weaps with high min damage and high attack speed with low action cost. THese guys are prolonged fights, and you need to maintain a higher DPS, and big damage with slow firing wont help, especially ifwhen youmiss. (you will miss)

Carry stims, and if you have doc or CM in your template even better

Use the landscape..move in and out of the mobs LOS to buy yourself a little regen time

Did I say USE A PET!!!! THese guys are a walking Damage Over TIme. IF you arent using a pet, you are throwing away free damage dealing.

These mobs are NOT impossible by any means. If you are failing, it means you need to take a hard look at your gear and tactics.

I've been blowing through most bosses, but tonight, I ran across a double gold chevron, level 82, 36k ham boss, and he was the toughest I've faced. Pixie and Ruby was all I took. I had him down to half health, but he incapped me and his health regened pretty fast, but I kept popping Ruby and healing after that and took him down in about five minutes. MBH / Master Carbs. Was actually worth my while. Got Enhanced Power cells, illegal power core, and a set of recon armor battle cores. Besides that, I've been getting way better loot from 7k targets.

Anyone know what happened with the boss marks? I've been hunting them since the loot patch and now today I can't take any down past 80% health.

Also ran into this problem. My mark also absolutely refused to fire any AOE's either so he would not aggro anything around him. After 30 minutes I just gave up and deleted the mission. I tried everything and spent close to 45k in food and could only get him down to about 10k health before everything I had was spent. Food/Drink... Full. Mind... Gone... Action... Gone.... Hotkeyed Stim... Gone.

/FD.. Go home. hehe

You may or may not believe this but I've taken down several boss marks, and even among the boss marks their difficulty seems to vary quite a bit. I've had some boss marks go down easier than a lot of my elite marks, and then again I get one like I had today that won't fire an AOE, and absolutely will not die even when I use every trick in my arsenal.

Am I complaining? No. Was it frustrating? Yes.. Did I have to admit Defeat? Yes.. Do I think I should have been able to kill him? No...

My template isn't really Uber like everyone elses here. MBH/Msmuggler with basic Medic.. Well, it's not "the best" and I accept that. I can take on all but the most difficult of the marks though. So I'm not too worried about the occasional one that I can't take on.... I know it's definitely not for lack of skill and tactics. I just don't have the healing and the speed/damage potential.

Ok. Well it looks like I'll have to change my template then. I'm MBH Master Rifle, and 4xxx CM.

I still don't think it's fair and I don't see the point in making these boss marks tougher. It use to be fun but now I have to grind again and change my skills. Where's the fun in that? I was really happy with my template.

Someone mentioned they were only dropping smuggler tools. Has anyone had anything better drop? Like crystals or BH schematics like they use to?

You've got a better template for this than I do, why on earth would you have to change it ?

I'm MBH/Master Rifle, and Novice CM, with the rest of my points plugged into various FS skills like Survival and Vehicle Control, which are pretty useless for this kind of thing.

I've had absolutely no problem taking these mob's down, none whatsoever. There's no reason you'd have to change your template, like many others have said, and dont take offense, but you've got a lot of things you can do, you just need to figure 'em out.

I start with some booster blue, and then some food, be it vagsarian canape, kiwik cluster, mando wine, or breath of heaven. You really need the extra health boost, and mind regen, because you will be healing. Get a good spot, go undercover, and use a couple of conceal shots ( they regen health so fast it doesnt make sense to use it more than 2 times, I've found. ) Then use a knockdown, bleed, sniper, and keep right on going. I prefer to try to stay down, so I can use the big sniper shot as much as possible. Heal as often as needed, and most fights are about5-6 minutes long. Also, make sure that you are using enhancers for your bacta toss and spray. I'm also using a +17 Healing efficiency Bandolier, but you've still got a higher healing efficiency than I do. For the fight, I'm using my Krayt T-21, which is capped on damage, and sliced for critical ( which is useless right now ) dps is around 576 for me. Armor, I'm using some recon which is around 6500 energy, and a PSG of 2376 with a 63 recharge. Oh, and my power-up, is a -28.8% action cost, so it takes it down to around 65, so I can spam special after special, after special, and NEVER get below 50 or 60% on my action.

The couple I had over the weekend were not good loots for me, foraged bugs, and a illegal core booster. Of course, it's been a cursed weekend for me lootwise...( 35 missions in 3 days, and 2 BH schematics, and 1 good CA, my friend, same 35 missions, and 12 BH schematics, and some good CA's and AA's ) So I'm not entirely sure on what they are dropping.

My equipment is nothing special...save the good stuff for the jedi, so I'm sure you could find comparable stuff on any galaxy. Just go into the fight properly equipped, and you'll be fine. To refresh, you've got a more advanced template for this than I do, and I've got no problem with these mobs, and my equipment is pretty standard ! Dont change your template.....

Well I'm using the Katarn Armor with about 5.5k maybe energy resistance. My proton carbine from a quest, and fought my first 38 or 39k ham Double Chevron goon. He was the only worthy fight I've had at all in these missions besides the boss marksI was fighting without armor. MBH/MC 4xxx CM. I like the template, riflemanwould benice cause you get recon certificate, but I'm back from a few years ago and didn't have any worthy rifle. All I need is a nice set of battle armor and I'm good. The boss marks I've killed have dropped some fancy AA's and CA's for me with crafting and lightsaber speed and that. I might just be getting lucky, but my 7k ham's who go down in a few seconds don't usually drop more than a trigger assembly. I usually eat the jar of bugs before a double chevron boss, maybe a booster blue, sometimes doctor boosts if there's an afk doctor on in a starport. Besides that, I'm not sure what all the trouble is. Just go get yourself a worthy weapon, fully slice it with all the components your getting, and go kill a few npc's. I hadn't played for two years, been back for a few weeks now and liking it. Just need to get a bunch of ADK's, some mandalorian armor, jet pack, full cap and sliced mark II, and I'll be all set. Off to kill some jedi now though. Goodluck everybody! *bang*-==\'<('-'< ....500k exp loss.... hoho

Impossible? Rubbish. Solo'd one last night. Lvl 82 and 36k HAM, he was hitting me for 1000points, I was hitting him for 700 points (with a 580dps pistol and 75 sac). Pretty took much took all of my mind and had to use a stim to stay alive in the end but he went down after 10 mins.

He even dropped a crystal.

I too can take the Marks my self. But I think if your mark is 30k+ they need to give a credit bouns for killing him. Think about it hes 28k-31k in creds and a 50% chance of having a loot drop. Seems worth it till you do the math of the 35k targets that drop a smuggler componet and thats it.

First off the first day this was out we were selling the Smuggler componets for 25k a pop on my server and the BH schamtics for 500k a pop 525k+29-31k ruffly. Plus it was nice to see the high mod CA's and AA's as well I thought for sure the Devs were on to something.

Now the devs swear up and down they didnt nerf the loot drop on the bosses. But since the last 2 hotfixes loot drops have gone way way down. 1 out of 10 targets might have a BH schmatic 1 out of 15 or more might have a good loot drop. So heres the math of that lets say your target is worth 31k and he or she has a 35k ham bar doing 400 damage+

So you use a droid(costs money to) Then you get to a planet. using your swoop to drive 5k meters+(costs money) You find out your target has moved so you use a seeker droid (costs money) find out hes another 2k away so you drive there(costs money) Finaly you find your target and you eat food and drink (costs money) he hits ya alot damaging your armor(costs money for new or to repair) As well as your durability on your wep drops (again Costs money)

So you figure you just spent about 9k or so just to get to the target to find out he drops you a mando frame wow 3k loot for a 9k trip.

Ok now your like yeh well you just got 31k for the bounty. Yes but add that up its 90k per 3 missions you do but -27k in goods to hunt the targets so you really made 50k +9k in smuggler componets 59k for 3 missions..

Not sure what a full suit of armor a good wep and some pups on your server costs but on mine we are looking at over a million in creds...I think if they gave a boss credit bonus that would be awsome they are hard to kill and they mess up your gear fast..least they could do is give us an extra 30k or so for killing them...anyways thats my opnion.

I know they were certainly beefed up, but I wouldn't say impossible. I solo'd a lvl 82 boss with 34k health and 400 hit damage. At first he cought be off gaurd and I had to burst run out of there. I then ate some food and put duelist stance on and healed with a stim about 3 times. It certainly was the longest npc battle I have ever had. By the way my template is pure combat: BH/Carb/SL. No healing skills.

Not impossible, but not soloable either. Its best to get some critters between the mark and you and when the mark uses an area attack it'll aggro the critters. This works with pets also, if you have a droid or a CH pet you can position your pet between yourself and the mark and when the mark uses an area attack it will aggro your pet. A level 30 combat droid won't kill the mark, but it will efectively negate the regen of a boss mark to the point where you can kill it before you run out of mind from healing. We're not supposed to get help from other people (including our own pets???), but it is handy to use tactics to get aggro on the boss.

I'm an MBH/Master Rifleman, so your mileage may vary.

That tactic works great! I got a mark to agro a Krayt the other day
