i killed my first mark ever last night...ive done nothing but play my full temp jedi since the CU hit

but ive finally started to get bored so i thought i would give bounty hunting a try

first mission was against an old guardian that is now MD/MLS...and after 7 minutes he finally got me

then i ended up with another on dant...so i went and when i finally took him out after about a 10 minute fight it gave me a payout of 222k (that still means almost full temp right??)

if it does mean mostly temped then im kinda proud of myself...first night of BH'n and a 220k+ bites the dust

It's all about the saber. A poor or average saber = beatable. Good saber = only if you are a very good BH. Excellent saber = slim to none.

No. Payout is based upon the skills of the jedi (read SP spent on jedi skills).

No the bonus now depends on vis, skills, how many times a bh killed them and other factors read teh patch notes.

222k could be full template, or it could be that hes a couple skills short.

I was a full template at 221k because I was 0404 sabers, master defender, 4100 healer, 4004 enhancer. this left me with 5 skill points I could not use.

now I'm 225k but still a finished template at 0404 sabers, master defender, 4020 healer, 3004 enhancer. I have one skill point left.

226k marks are double masters with two colums in another discipline. zero skill points left

I would assume that the 222k mark was some sort of dabbler, or could have been in the process of rearranging a template. either way they were high up.

i know how it USED to work...like i said i have a full temp jedi too and am no stranger to the BH system...

but what i did see was that they said u would recieve a bonus based on skill levelAND based on how long its been since that particular jedi was last killed by a bounty hunter...

my question was does the payout still reflect skill points invested into jedi skills...or is there another amount added as well making the payout not reflect the skill level as accurately as pre-pub20

You know, when I first read the notes on Pub 20, I thought I was going to hate it. I actually like the changes even though the terms are bugged with offline missions and very sketchy name returns from seeker probes(can only remember getting a name twice out of many missions taken since pub 20). I am able to get missions MUCH quicker now without having to worry about the mark being a fellow rebel, not to mention refresh hell is now a thing of the past(W00T!). I've been lucky(?) that the majority of missions pulled have NOT been on Kashyyyk. I've had a few AFK in houses. The main thing that has helped me is that I have been able to take and track down more targets in a shorter period of time which helps me become a better BH. I like not knowing what skill level my mark is at. Makes it interesting. I've surprised myself in successfully taking down several marks that paid out 226k. I don't know if that means that they were full temped or if there was some bonus thing going on but the fights were great. My strategy is to win by wearing the jedi down. I've never been able to outright overpower a jedi unless they were really low level. Came up against a mark yesterday and got my ass handed to me in a few seconds because of his high-powered saber and speed. It was like hitting a brick wall at 60mph. And I thought to myself, that's cool. There will be marks that I will take down without flinching; marks that will make for some great fights; and marks who will flat out own me. But that lets me adapt, learn and grow to become a better BH.
