What's the counter or restirctions to cloak?

If it ends up being a personal end duel comand that works in PvP and on bunties with no real restrictions, it might be a problem.
Think pre nerf FR3.
Think future FRS.
Jedi fighting jedi in battles that never have a resolution because one jedi will always force cloak and run away.

if it cost say 1000 force (sounds reasonable to me if AI is costing 2000) there wouldnt be issues with jedi cloaking when a bh kites, kding and cloaking when they're low on force. Just a thought.

Here is the way those two skills work.

AI costs 1000 Force, lasts 30 seconds, has a snare effect, and the AI player is able to engage in combat the entire time AI is activated. AI may be stacked to increase invulnerability time but the snare will also stack and cause a root until the first AI runs out.


In order to cloak the player must be standing, may not be within 20 meters of any player/npc/droid/trainer/vendor/creature/speeder. The player immediately drops cloak if he engages a target. Cloak costs 150 Force to initiate, and costs 25 force for every player/npc/droid/trainer/vendor/mob/speeder within 20m of the cloaked player every 10 seconds it is active. (8 things near cloaked player within that 10 seconds time = 200 force cost to player)

Flaming really does get to me, it has given Jedi a bad name, and there are some who enjoy the proffession for what it is, and not because its an immediate 'I WIN' button. If I kill someone who isnt a Jedi, I always get the "You wouldn't have won if you didn't have defender." I just laugh and tell them to read my forum sig, then /addignore.

And I doubt it was even his Jedi. It was probably a guidlie's who asked him to grind the last box, and therefore he has no skill at PvP because he's only a level 37 respec BH. Most Jedi at that level know how to handle themselves, I started being able to kill bh when I got to 120k, and I know there are people with mroe skill than me....but they still flame.

On behalf of the real Jedi, I apologise. I am sorry you had to experience such a noob and has given you a bad outlook to the high level Jedi. Although it may seem that way, we aren't all bad...

i took this jedi specifically. i've known him since he started his village crap...he was mayor to a friends guild. hes about as immature as they come too. He put a krayt skull in front of the voting terminal once so people couldn't vote him out of office, and when a csr was contacted to resolve the issue, they sent him a tell and he told them to go away and added them to his ignore list. I just think its funny the jedi who had the least to lose out of all the ones ive faced whined the most.

Ok first off I am a Mpowers jedi and love cloak... aside from usefullness it is a darn fun thing to play with... That being said a BH killing me one on one gets my respect not a hate tell. Cloak does work as intended as it is one of the main reasons for powers and does have a catch... you cant cloak within 20m of anything... hell even my bike seems to count for this..... Problem is BH has gotten too fond of rooting things at over 20m. Here is a hint never ever root a powers at over 20m... you are just asking for me to hit you with a choke and lightning (BTW both do way more damage then my sabre) and cloak if things start going badly. Actually I usually cloak at the beginning of a fight (i like roleplaying the sith thing and a true sith would never start a fight at a disadvantage). That being said it is possible for a good BH to win and a good BH should always beat a bad jedi. I have watched a BH friend of mine hunt full temps solo and it is cool to watch him do it with skill. That being said perhaps I am saying too much but remember just stay within 20m and the jedi will stay in sight. Add to that the fact that most Mpowers only have one tree of sabre (if that) and you have the makings of a good strategy.

Even with his overused overpowered move you killed your mark didn't you?

Every other thread on this forum is how it is impossible to defeat a fully templated Jedi.

Yet even when one of you posts that you accomplished the "impossible" you still see the need to complain.

Are there any other "Fixes" we can do for you while we're nerfing Cloak, such as Avoid Incap, Force Run 3, Choke, Stasis, Armor Break? Wouldn't you still complain if you could kill your full template Jedi mark in 5 minutes, 3 minutes, 1 minute?

Maybe when Smugglers are added as player bounties we could have Last Ditch, and all the mezzes "Fixed" for your benefit too so that they all die at the mere sight of you.

Come on man, bottom line is that you killed the guy. Quit complaining already and go get another mission.

I think Jedi should not be allowed to attack from cloaked. Give thema cooldown of at least 5-10 seconds after they uncloak before they can attack. It would also cut down on the 'recruiter phantoms'.

And really this is what it boils down to.

Every profession has access to at least one frustraing skill FR3, Cloak, Stasis, Concussion, Paralyze, Thyroid Rupture, etc.

The question is how to use yours so that they can't use theirs.

If a player takes Mpowers as their offense they have 2 X the action cost, 2 X the Force cost, and do half the damage of a saberist. They do have other skills, but from a damage perspective they just can not dish it out as fast as any of the other Elite combat professions can.

When they added Cloak to Wielder they took 3 of our favorite skills away from us. Whether Cloak should only take 28 SP to add to your template is debatable, but that is also what the 3 skills they took away use to cost.

I have not gotten killed by a BH yet, but for me as a knight, I look for fights.

Even now that I am not perma overt, I still am always overt. Just more fun.

But as for him, forget it... we do not need jedi like that anyhow, and I am glad Bhs like you are out there and making it hard on these idiots.

I hate the easiness jedi have now, and publish 20 is pathetic. I like the loss of names to a point to avoid greifing, but you should have an idea from seeker droid as they will locate you and transmit info.

Anyhow you are the type of BHs I respect, and hope stick around after pub 20. It will be nice to cleanse the galaxy of useless BHs that just want a WIN button and thats it.
