Now before answering your Trapping XP question, Let me first say I have only been in game 10 days. Though I am only 10,000 Combat XP from Novice BH (I sat in Iraq for a year, I was excited to finally play).
I received almost all of my trapping XP in 4 hours of game play while buffed on theed. I crafted hundreds of traps and then found a master doc to buff me. Once buffed, I would go out in a party or solo and find Kaadu orrelatively equal beasts. 178 Trapping XP per trap thrown....throwing 100 traps at each....the xp went rather fast.
I did the same thing with camping XP. After receiving enormous amounts of hide and bone, i sat in my camps and crafted camp after camp after camp. Then I would either sell them all off, or I would simply destroy them and create another twenty camps. After 10 or so mind numbing hours, camping XP was finished.
Though these techniques were not a "lot of fun" they did help me reach my goal of going after NBH a lot faster. I have no desire to grind holos, and I have no desire to work on secondary chars. The MBH character is one of the sole reasons I bought the game.

After climbing clear to Ranger 4-2-4-4 then to drop it w/o even a scrap of scout skills left to try other professions and back again. A new Master Ranger walks Intrepid's many landscapes...
