Thread: How many old school BH's out there feel a little put out?
Message Edited by Krypt-Keeper on 09-26-2005 09:37 AM
Why should we feel put out?
I know I did my MBH in 2003, thats all that matters, who cares about anyone else.
My only grievance would be, back then due to the skillpoint requirements, a person had to choose, go MBH and forgo chasing a Jedi slot, or do holos like everyone else did whilst maintaining their profession of choice. I stuck with MBH, yet I keep getting 'Jedi deserve to be better because of the time invested in my character' .. pfft.
I must say that you guys have discused this with remarkable maturity
about the time I hung up my Carbine for good this forum was a pit viper nest
it is good to see that some of the BH rage has been put to rest.
I only started this thread because this new loot system seem to be yet another symptom of a growing trend in this game...instant gradification. People want instant uber status in what ever they do and they seem to be getting it. With all these tapes and weapon enhancements flooding the market, yes prices are droping but so is the edge of the exeptional player....now we can all revel in the security that we are all avareage![]()

Sooooo....you lack respect for everyone that struggled to make your existence easier?
Look at my forum date,
I am just not arrogant. You orI had nothing to do with making this game easier. Fromearly days of beta, developers did not hide the fact some features of thegame would not be ready at launch. They said eventually they would introduce thesecrets toJedi, Player cities, Player mounts, etc.
Player city shuttleports and Mounts were coming into the game. They did not come up with this Grandidea simply because a sole profession, Bounty Hunter cried for these features at launch. It was for everyones benefit. And like the rest of the player base, it made travelling, thus Bounty hunting... much easier.

I played through 10 min shuttle waits, no mounts, NO SHIPS, grouped jedi and FD all the way scrimping and saving, grinding it out on my leather ass to affored the best equipment, attachments, and weapons avalable.I was just wondering how the rest of you Old BHs feel about the new generation becoming rich beyond the dreams of the sultan on high end loot that we would have given our left testical for?Are you simply happy to be included now? or is there still some animosity amitsed the ranks?
It doesn't matter to me.
Its pretty much a given that the pioneers of anything within a MMORPG will have it a bit tougher than those who follow in their footsteps. Happens on alot of stuff, and its just the way it is in an ever-changing game.
Besides, we've been around so long that we should all be loaded and rolling in the cash too, right? I can't speak for others, but if there was an option in the game to buy my own private island to retire to, and build my own little bounty hunter empire from it, I'd be doing that right about now.
Heck man, just be proud of the fact that you were one of the first.

Your painting an interesting version of history there. Are you saying that everything that is currently in the game was always waiting in the wings for the right time for the Devs to spring it on us? Because the CU was an interesting little twist. What? Where they like Lucas himself? Just waiting for the technology to catch up with their original vision?
No. On this sight there is an in concept. In development and in testing forum. These are for new ideas that did not exist at Beta. Player experience helps shape these ideas and those of us that have played for quite a while have amassed the majority of the experience.

Old SchoolBH, first time caller...
All I'll say is BH is too easy to get now. The loot doesn't bother me, it's the BH numbers. It became the Respec FotM when it used to take months to grind for a reg player. Trapping BLEEPED. Investigation BLEEPED. Ap points BLEEPED. That was the challenge. It meant a lot to me to earn it, and then SOE handed it out. ![]()
I don't feel put out but I do get pissed off when I here "new" or "respec" Bh's complaining about the state of the profession. FFS BH is in the best shape it has been in for at least 2 years. All of our specials work, the investigation line is no longer bugged, terminals show only online jedi etc
I really don't think the new breed have any idea what some of us went through to master bh back in the day. I even grouped with a novice BH who was complaining about how hard and time consuming the investigation line is. well as you can imagine I chewed him a new a-hole.
