its an exploit b/c if u time it right it bypasses the cooldown. Don't matter how its done, its not intended as a game mechanic. And yes its really as easy as pressing two keys in battle.

The "exploit" is not alternating attacks in battle, that is working correctly as different attacks/heals are set on different timers. This is to encourage a bit of thought in comabt rather than spamming your hardest hit 100 times like you could do pre-CU.

The "exploit" involves using a macro so that you can spam one special attack constantly and hit about once every second with it. The macros bypass the cooldown timers for that attack so that it can be spammed continuously and hit at very fast rates. It is the use of these macros that is "exploiting".

There is a post stickied on the Jedi forum about "speed bugs" that talks about both the "modded speed" bug for lightsabres and it also mentions the cooldown bypass macros. There is a link in the OP to another thread that was deleted because it contained examples of these macros. Having seen those examples before the post was deleted I can see how they bypass the timers. I think the fact that this post was deleted very shortly after the example macros were posted indicates that the macros are not using intended game mechanics and are therefore "exploiting a bug".

I would therefore answer the poster who asked if BH could use this with a definate NO. Cheating by anyone for whatever reason is very rightly a bannable offence.

*sigh* The same argument other place. On the Jedi board most complain about BH's that use this "bug" and here the same but only names swapped.
I have met both Jedi and non Jedi who use this exploit and this won't stop until the dev's fix it.

There has been a speed bug thats been acknowledged by the DEV team that affects Jedi. Its been a known issue for many many weeks and has not been fixed.

There is also an exploit using a certain macro that not only repairs the speed bug but bypasses the cool down timers that im sure some Jedi are using.

Having said that, there is also a macro that is legitimate that allows a Jedi to engage in combat at the modified speed of his/ saber that REPAIRS the speed bug. That is not an exploit, but a bandaid to a long standing bug.

So you may as well adapt, because if and when the speed bug is repaired you will be fighting Jedi that are not further hindered by the many bugs that exist for all of us, let alone Jedi. But the speed bug not only hampers the qualified speed of asaber, it slows it even further. So I do have the macro for the allowed macro and will be setting mine up shortly. Im looking forward to fighting at 1.14 speed rather than 2.5 speed.

Sorry ? 1k hit every 3 seconds? Sounds slow to me and certainly not in exploit country.

Unless you mean you were hit multiple times for a total of 1000 dmg every 3 seconds .... in which case it could be ....

This is being used both by BH's and Jedi.

I have both a BH and a Jedi, I'm sure like 75% of the people on this board. I've never seen a Jedi use this against me, but the last 3 BH's to come after me have been using it. I usually stasis the BH after the first minute of fighting and check the combat logs for Advanced Critical Shot every second 3-4 times in a row. If I see it, I know they are exploiting and I just leave. I've attempted to submit CSR tickets about the abusers of this expliot, but always receive the same canned response, we have no way of confiriming this so thank you for your understanding.

As a Jedi, I feel this is much more detremental exploit against them because they suffer XP loss on death. If a BH dies to this exploit they just lose pride and time, they don't have to grind more.

But atleast there is a new expansion coming out.

This can/does happen with all proffessions. I have had a swordsman hit me for 7 hits in 6 seconds. Suffice to say by the time I had kd recovered i was dead. The devs are looking into this issue however so hopefully we will get a fix soon.

No i don't. Why would walking back and forth be an exploit....?

Pushing the buttons isn't the exploit. The fact that cooldown timers can be bypassed is (and no im not talking about different specials on different cooldowns). The easiest way to exploit this is to macro it, but it can also be done by alternating two attacks -its all about when you click the second attack. It requires timing but it is very feasible to skip the cooldown without using macros, just pushing two buttons. If you are knowingly doing this then i'm afraid yes, that is exploiting a game mechanic. That having been said, the DEVs are well aware of this as has been stated numerous times, but its anyone guess when/if it will be fixed.

Out of 10 marks I might get to fight 3. Out of those 3 at least 2 of them use these macro exploits on Bria. I feel your pain. New BH chars have no choice but to spend 2-3 months saving for the best gear in game to come close to standing a chance. Its funny how people are complaining saying the BH grind is to short. It took me 2 weeks to power grind my bh to full template. Now it will take about 6 months to get all my needed gear at a casual player pace.
