And i would reccomend starting the fight with a bomb droid also. These sometimes target the mind and can almost incap them on the spot, just finish it with a few eye shots.
BTW the droids target a random pool.

Depends totally on the situation, sometimes if you catch them unaware or un-buffed there's a chance you could probably take 'em down with a decent Scatter Pistol. I'd advise gaining at least one Pistoleer tree though, take your pic, all four trees contain good content such as Melee Def. and Dodge which you will need, especially against a Jedi or high-end NPC's.

The best thing is to come up with your own style of hunting/fighting. Devise your own tactics, then work to improve them as you spend time huntnig. Some will work well, and some will get you a bad case of death. When I was worknig up to huntnig Jedi I read post after post here, some good ideas and some that didn't work well for me. Just remember that surprise, cunning and patience are your best tools in bringing down your prey. Good luck !!

If you're guilded, or even if you're not, duelling someone more experienced than you is a great way to learn. I've gone from totally sucky to only marginally stupid in just a few short weeks. If you have a Jedi guildie, try a few friendly duels. If no Jedi are available, duel a BH who's more experienced than you. Although it's not the same as fighting a Jedi, you can get a lot of good pointers.
A few basics:
1) Use states to your advantage. Keep them intimitated and/or stunned. Dizzy/KD if you have them available.
2) DoTs are your friends. Fire, bleeds, poisions, all give the additional damage and something else to think about and waste force on.
3) Use a combination of skills/mods/foods to get your defenses up.
4) Know your template and its capabilities. If you're ranged, keep your distance. If you're melee, use /follow so you can concentrate on strategy while the Jedi worries about where to run.
5) Good equipment can make all the difference. Ask around to see what a good price/stats are on a top-notch weapon for your template. It's an investment. You can make the money back in bounties.
6) Use backup if the Jedi's out of your price range. If it's a knight, take an opposing faction knight along. If you're ranged, take a melee BH along. The 5-BH limit is your friend. Fight clubbing means that you split 800k-1mil 3 ways instead of 226k.
Since hooking up with fellow BH's and practicing duelling, I went from one kill in TWO MONTHS to nine in the last five days.

Here is what i do, although im carbineer. SO adjust it for your proffesion! For example i use Crippling shot, you could use torso?
- Approach mark, store bike at 40m
-Open with 4 Fire Knockdown shots, if the KD fails then i go for a few Underhand shots, enough to Knockdown them.
- Then i shoot em with some Crippling Shots hopefully to kill, they will force heal becos 90% of jedi have atleast novice force healing, for the extra force points.
- IF that fails, and they get up, i burst run and start again from he beggining, trying for the Knockdown DIzzy. A good jedi is a jedi who cant swng at you for 500 + a shot.
- For bigger marks i usually set a bomb droid up, for example watch where they hunt, do they milk the lair? if so sit in their lair til they come back, then as the arrive give the old /tellpet FT and BOOM u commence the attack!
- If i have to destroy their bike because they run away, i am not totally evil so tip them some cash...

since your master pistoleer invest in a nice de-10 if you dont already have one.i have one with 440 max dmg which goes up to 582 dmg with a pup.being ranged your going to have a tough time taking down any target over 160k.bomb droids work nice if you can get the jedi in the rite situation.suprise is your best weapon try to catch your mark grinding or hanging out in a crowd and mask your approch try coming over the top of a hill or from around a corner.good luck

1. Don't wear Armor Unless the Jedi is 80k or lower. This is because most jedi's suck with Saber and will most likely use TK on you. Armor doesn't protect againest JEDI and only lowers your HAM. Some BH's will where armor due to the fact that JEDI's will grind in a POI area and they want the protection from NPC's! Although true, this doesn't happen much because lower leveled jedi's don't wear armor either and can die easy in these places. If a jedi is in there they have Master Sabers and You will not get past saber block listed below.
2. Range and Master Saber(SaberBlock) don't mix. I've tested many pistols, shots, and drugs to try and get past SB and nothing works. Not even PistolMeleeDefense which is a Melee attack but is treated like a range attack. Most Jedi's grind Master Sabers first, so odds are your sh..it out of luck killing them with a Range attack.
3. Any BH can kill a JEDI. Even the best Jedi out there can be killed by 1 BH. The best way I have found is to get a target, mark them in your
friends list and tag them to let you know when they log online. You need to get them unbuffed. So the next time they log online it will tell you and all u need to do is send up a driod and get there fast before they get buffed. Although most jedi log off at their home city where alot of Buff Doc's sit there buffing Guildmates. You have a better chance of gettin your target unbuffed.
Warnin.. Try this way month after month after month though and you will soon see that this gets very old very fast. I spent most of my time waitin around and then dropping the target. But I have also killed a JEDI this way too. It's more of a huntin of the people you really don't like because any other jedi isn't worth the amount of time you waste just waitin for them to log back online.
GoodLuck Hope this helps alittle..!

Hello everyone,
I was wondering if the Bounty Hunter profession is only really any good for the hunting of Jedi? Looking at the forums I see that this is the topic which dominates the posts. I am a Master Smuggler (with no BH dabbling) and with the upcoming CU and change in skill points I was trying to decide which profession to take with my smuggler. I'm not concerned with staking or uber templates but I thought either Commando (an ex-commando who has turned to smuggling to make ends meet after a raid went terribly wrong) or BH (an ex-bounty hunter who has realised he can make a money on the side through smuggling). What I wanted to know was what are the NPC bounty missions like, are they fun - tracking your mark to some remote planet - or is hunting other players the only real thrill. I know I would never make a great BH (I would only take the basic requirements and not master marksman) but I always thought it would be a fun profession to play. Thanks for any insight and help you can offer (I realise it might change once the CU goes live).
