AFK grinding on the avatar is not viable. They are all level 81+ with high HAM's, use AOE and ranged attacks. Dont take my word for it. Do the quest for access or spend some time up there in a group and make your own call

Add in the factor that the respawn is not very fast. Not a viable place to grind! Would have to move around the whole station to max the XP. Plus the fact that you will be draining force like made with the heals - have to rest to regain, adding in the downtime. I call BS on the BH that posted that. He is assuming they are AFK with no proof that they are even on the station. Since it is an instance he would have to be part of the so called AFK groupto even know.

IMO, just another BH spewing trash with no knowledge or facts to back it up.

I was looking around on the bh forums earlier trying to see what they were complaining about today and someone said that there is afk grinding going on at the Avatar. Is this true and if so where at on the station? I ask not for the purpose of afking but for the purpose of finding good groups. I need to finish my template but I am hesitant about grinding on dant because there are to many people. Its easy for someone to come up on you when your in the middle of a fight and have a screen full of dead pickets lol. Even with a supersized radar it can be hard to see sometimes with all the cluter on there. Thanks for the input, may the force be with you and all that jazz

Use your overhead map in combination with the radar when grinding. Set the radar at 256 (to confirm group member or not that is inbound) and you'll see a huge difference in response time.

I have several times surprised a BH now that is trying to "sneak" up on me and before he even has a chance to get off the second attack (remember they have first strike) I've already got my stasis on him/her.

Now, it takes a while to get used to looking at the screen with everything, but once you get used to it, it's a total lifesaver.

quoted from another thread:

2. psgs are useless against a jedi (unless he pulls out a rifle), as they only help with ranged energy... no melee

I always wear a PSG, and i've never tested if it works vs melee or not... i don't know why it wouldnt, that's like saying 8k energy armor wont work either.. but w/these devs... who knows... anyone confirm this?

Psg's wont work against any melee attacks, including sabers. However some say that they will deflect some of the damage done by saber throw and also help against some force powers. Still, if you are using the imperial prototype psg's its nice for that added accuracy bonus.
