you can also jam uplink terminals at faction bases for 1000 BH xp while overt and at an opposite faction base during its vulnerability time. you have to be at investigation 2 to jam the uplink terminal.

Just my 2 cents, but not sure on the formula that was first posted for Investigation XP, cause yesterday I had a $226,000 mission and was awarded 7533 points of Investigation points. That formula states I should have only gotten 4520 points instead. Not complaining, just curious where that formula came up. Also did another mission later last night and got 7500 Invest points.

For NPC missions you get 2% of the payout in Invest XP, for Jedi its about 3.3%

Well, last I knew (i.e. when I was grinding BH) this was the payout. It was originally set at 1 point of Investigation XP per 100 credits earned, but that rate was doubled to 1 point of Investigation XP per 50 credits. As for where else you can find that information, I think it appears in just about every Bounty Hunter guide.

This is news to me. Two percent is the same rate as 1 point of Investigation XP per 50 credtis earned (1/50=.02=2%), so I guess that is what I was saying too. The three-point-three percent payout for Jedi missions (what the former poster obviously ran if the payout was 226,000 credits) almost exactly matches the payout the former poster said he got. I am curious as to how much the second mission (the one in which he earned 7,500 points of Investigation XP) was worth in terms of credit payout. If you receive 1 point of Investigation XP per 30 credits on Jedi missions, that would exactly match the 7,533 points of Investigation XP for the 226,000 credit Jedi mission. If the payout is set at such a rate, my guess would be that the second Jedi mission was for 225,000 credits, something that could have easily been overlooked to be assumed as 226,000 credits like the first mission mentioned.

Well, it depends on how quickly you run missions, and how frequently you run them. However, my rough estimates in my guide were based on pre-JTL standard missions times. The following is what I found...
Bugs and time are what will slow you down the most. Time wise, if you are a hardcore gamer, you can run the first 70 missions at 15 minutes per mission (that's really moving though), and cap at 10,000 XP in seventeen and a half hours. The rest of the missions run in about half an hour each (again, that's hardcore gaming with no setbacks), so that's 68 missions totaling 34 hours. If you are totally hardcore, that's fifty-three and a half hours of gaming (two hours in there for the minimum of two server shutdowns you'll run into) to get from Novice BH to Investigation IV in one sitting. You're eyes might bleed if you do that, so I recommend running a few hours a day, and hunting something on Dantooine when you get bored. A month is a respectable time to finish the whole tree, in my opinion.
I didn't say specifically the amount of time to get from Investigation II to Investigation III, but if you cap out at 10,000 points of Investigation XP before training for Investigation II, you would only need 6,000 more points of Investigation XP to train in Investigation III. Under the payout system I suggest running (basically make sure every mission is worth 16,700 credits), you can get that last 6,000 points of Investigation XP in 18 missions, at half an hour a piece as I was saying, totally 9 hours. So to go from Novice Bounty Hunter with zero points of Investigation XP to a Bounty Hunter trained in Investigation III, if you were grinding straight with no setbacks, you could do it in 26.5 hours. Of course, this depends on your own speed at which you complete missions, but if you follow my payout system (novice level missions of at least 7,100 credits and level two missions of at least 16,700 credits) you will need 70 of the novice level missions and 18 of the second level missions. Simply multiply 70 by the amount of time it takes you to run a novice level mission, and add it to the product of 18 and the amount of time it takes you to run a second level mission.

Realized I was incorrect in my first post. The "Investigation XP" as I called it is actually indeed Bounty Hunter XP. Don't know why I was so convinced otherwise. Anyhow, my bad.

A respec BH tries to get help in the game, but nobody wants to help him. Finally, someone tells him to go to the bounty hunter forums for advice.
When he goes there, his title doesn't really show what he is asking for, and everyone assumes he must be glad to be earning double XP, but they don't know the real reason, so they click in to this post.
Then they realize he isn't only a respec BH, but hasn't even visited the forums before - his post is blank!
Man was that a good story, I'm crying right now. No really I am, it feels funny the water going down my cheek...

you wanna talk about crap xp now if your not master you cant get bounty hunter xp for $*** now with publish 20. i have investigation 3 and i can hunt a level 83 npc with a difficulty rating on the terms of 79 and only get 530 bounty hunter xp and for those of you who think that is good you need 18000 to get investigation 4!!!!! this is ridiculous i went from getting 3000-5000 xp on jedi to getting 530xp how in the heck are us people who arent master bounty hunter supposed to get to master bounty hunter without spending all our time doing weak missions that you only get 24000 credits and 530 xp for this is bs and needs to be addressed immediatly. if it didnt take a hella long time to do 1 mission i wouldnt care but when you have to track with aarykyd droid and then your seeker droids you have to use like 2 or 3 to find them it takes anywhere from 30 min to 1 hour depending on where you are and then you have to be able to kill your mark. and when you figure that you have to do 36 missions with that xp take 30 min or 1 hour to do that and it takes forever all im saying is that if your going to get rid of jedi hunting for non masters then give more xp for npc's

Let's turn the clock back to 1.5 years ago, it was much worse than this. Find some faction bases to slice.

33 missions for a tier 4 box doing what you'r supposed to do as Bounty Hunter, hunting targets ?
I think you haven't much to complain here.
BH is not just like any profession in SWG, achieving Master should be something you should be proud of.
