Besides forum whining Jedi.. and the smack talking Jedi.. Jedi overall is an excellent profession with a few good people.
sadly you could insert bh every where you said jedi and that statement would also hold true. both professions have their fair share of idiots.

Here's a secret... to alot of these people it's their life. It's a sad fact, they live to log in and get pissed off at pixels. Just look at the zombies who play the original EQ, I bet the people who post page long rants and fits here are 2 steps away from being face down in a box of Dominoes or Papa Johns. I don't hate the players who have Jedi toons.
ButI /HATE/ the fact that Jedi is a player-class in the first place.
The second any MMO gets an Alpha Class, guess what happens? Right.
Now, it wouldn't be so bad if this particular MMO didn't rely on an organic, player-based economy.
But it does.
So now you have nearly half the player population, probably more than that, actively pursuing the Jedi Alpha Class. Which means, all those people, who if not enticed by the carrot-and-stick marketing ploy of Jedi by SOE, would be putting their effort into becoming awesome crafters. Awesome merchants. Glow-stickless leaders in the GCW. Or not playing at all. Which in my mind, isn't such a bad thing if I am surrounded by a bunch of people who just want to play SWG and not pursue some Alpha Class so they can pwnzers everything.
But that doesn't make much sense to SOE marketing, so eh...
