Thread: So.. are you going to run?
I hate repeating myself and feel sorry for correspondents, Tanks even posted this:
The visible amount on the terminals = 40k -50k
The payout on DB = whatever the jedi was worth before publish 20. (That's the bonus: 50k + whatever is needed to get there)
Why do I as a jedi, know this better than half you BHs?

Very true. i'm not exactly sure if the CU..succeded in its "balance". But that brings around the other question, why get so mad when a Jedi dashes off, because he can't fight back?
It's not the running that gets me it's the Jedi Mobile Homes. I can handle the /offerrides to escape (not to bypass a root) but the Mobile Homes just takes so much away from the game. The hate tells of uberness from the cloner reallymake me chuckle as well. But what you call running is really Kiting becuase combat is still engaged. The Jedi runners do nothing but run and hide in a house. I will agree that Running and Kiting are two forms of combat tatics with one of those tatics being a offensive tatic and the other being a defensive tatic.
Now that we have that cleared up I want you to answer one question for me. For every Jedi that runs and hides into a house to avoid contact how many will turn around and break an arm patting themselves on the back shouting to anyone that will listen on how "uber" they are and everyone else is nothingonce their template is completed?
Not all Jedi are like this but the vast majority are. PC's should have never been able to control Jedi because they don't know how to play them. But now I am just trying to put the toothpaste back in the tube.........
The problem with the new system is gigantic.
Most BH's are ranged, they will "kite" in order to win.
Jedi are melee, meaning they have to KD/Root/Snare their opponent in order to get into effective range.
Why should a BH stand toe-to-toe with a Jedi, giving them the advantage over them? This has nothing to do with cowardice. It's a matter of PURE stupidity if a BH wants to do this. By allowing yourself to get within range of a Jedi's attacks, you are essentially giving them the upper-hand, meaning that you PROBABLY won't win the battle.
If you want fair fights, and all that stuff, get in a guild that does nothing but war. As a BH you should be more concerned with finishing your MISSION. By whatever means neccesary. If that means "kiting", so be it. It's to YOUR advantage. That would be like emailing the position of your army to the enemy, and then telling him what weapons you have, what tactics you're considering and what strength you have. It makes NO sense. But hey, if you're the type that is more concerned with getting your clock cleaned when you go after a mark, knock yourself out.
Oh, and I seriously doubt you've won EVERY fight (Unless you're only had 2 or 3 missions). If so, you're the best BH on this game. Which, I'm sorry, I can tell you now you aren't. ![]()

Eh.. at the mobile homes. lol can't say i did that at all, just stuck down a house in a area, and used it for logging and AFKing. How bothersome to put down a house every second you get into trouble. BUt when i grinded.. mostly pre-cu (was.. a "complete" template then) i did all my xp without touching the terminals once, so i guess i never had to worry about visits.
Yeah, Kiting.. Running.. they are the same thing to me. I can only agree to actually running if you are seriously outnumbered. I do however believe in 1 on 1's.
Wish i could tell you, on your jedi question that is. After witnessing the horror of the double xp week(s), and respec. I almost feel sick with how many people, skipped from padawan to complete template in so little time. Wouldn't worry about it too much, let'em brag at how uber they are, and when you put'em in the cloner you can remind them; "If you had actually learnt how to play your class, we might have been in different places..... wait.. i take that back, i still would have made my check". and let the hate tells flow. Sorry.. i don't feel remorse for the people, that hurried through just to get it done with, the cheapest way possible.
AS for not having any PC jedi.. its debateable. Been talking about it ever since back in beta2.. if the devs had half a brain, and weren't trying to suck everyone's pocket dry, things may have turnt out differently. But even if there was only 1 Jedi per server, people would still complain, because that person would be "special" in anyway compared to them. The one thing the devs made this game around, was making everyone have the ability to be "equal". They did this more so for the casual gamers.

well for those jedi that just pull out the T21 as i open fire...lol

Well if the jede is a high lvl mark i would defniately advise you to run - the T21 requires master rifles so combinde with jedi heal - AUCH ![]()
(But you point is understandable as the trando hunting rifle will do the job - think its only CL54 certf)

Err i think you're confused there man. I won every fight as a JEDI against BH. Pre-Cu and CU. a few 2 on 1's during pre-cu time.
Anywho like i was saying earlier its not about if kiting, or running, or whatever should be used. That's your choice to use them, but in doing so, you'll have a mark run. which seems to be a majority of the problems for most BH's out there. Complaining their mark runs, ever consider that this is a possibilty as to why? (amongst the others... but just assume it was) Would you stand and fight, knowing you would actually get a fight, even if it "possibly" put you at a slight disadvantage.....
And depending on who you were and how you thought, yes, you would "email" your enemy your every move, strength and weakness. its called a false sense of security.
Jedi who exploit to get away = cheaters who should be banned from the game.

Jedi who run = fine with me, annoying but its their job to avoid getting killed.

I could agree with that.
What he said.
I can handle runners. That doesn't bother me.
It's those that run to houses and hide when they aren't suppose to be able to.
It's those that accept rides from people 30 meters away and then just sit there and look at you while there is NOTHING that can be done.
It's those that constantly hide out on Kashyyyk knowing they have reduced their chances of being hunted by more than 50% because most BH's don't want to bother finding them there.
Those are the problems. And I think those issues are the ones the majority of the REAL hunters here have. Dropping a house to log out is fine. Dropping 4 of them withing 200 meters of each other to make sure you can exploit the system and get away isn't.
But SOE has made it perfectly clear. They are no longer trying to compete with WoW or Guild Wars. They are now trying to take all the customers that play X-Box KOTOR2. A full Jedi only game. If you're an alternate profession, you will soon be shunned and ignored. Jedi are the money makers, and they know, and they will make sure they get all the attention. As has been the case over the past few patches. Guess I'll start looking into playing CS again.

Sorry to break your dream, but Jedi in galaxies sucks farrr to bad to compare to KOTOR.
Yeah..while it is probably impossible to find a "non-afk" jedi on kashyyyk..and with the devs intent to never fix a exploit, until everyone has used it.. you can just forget about that planet. But you've got to remember, its all about money with SOE. the thought alone to these new jedi is.. "wow i can go to this planet, and never be found! i won't have to go through the horridness of hiding on dantoonie, for the rest of my ingame life, so i don't lose xp and become a anti-social hermit". I'm sure you don't understand it, as you've probably not done anything Jedi.
It comes with the job, but the job is hardly the reward it once was, before all the changes. Now that the general population has gotten ahold of jedi, through SOE's well planned "respec & double xp & new planet" release, they did exactly what they needed. made more jedi, making older players quit out of frustration (too many jedi, or sick of the nerfs that have gotten slinged onto them, and useless content *cough* holograms, plants*cough*) and bringing back old bugs. Yet at the same time bringing in fresh customers.. from episode 3.... gotta admit, they're good at this.
Let me run this game for 6 months, and i bet i could make it the best MMORPG out there.. ah well
