Thread: Is Critical slice on weapons working and is it even worth it???
I've found that the best slice for any weapon would be a level 3 damage slice, level 1 speed, and level 1 crit chance slice if you're wanting to increase your base stats. Some might argue that you need more of a speed slice, but speed slice will just adjust your base DPS and nothing else (in reference to damage). A level 3 damage slice will get you almost as good of a DPS as a level 3 or 4 speed slice and increase your damage range.
With that said, once you get a level 3 damage slice, the only other options available to you are a level1 crit chance and level 1 speed slice. This will put your weapon at 100% customization.
If you want to slice for a higher crit chance, your trading max damage for a percentage increase in damage (using crit strike) and/or a higher chance of getting a crit hit (IMO).

Some good info here. One problem I have is that all my weapons are already capped on damage. Leaves me to a worthless speed slice or critical.
The funny thing is I swear that one of my weapons I had speed sliced last night actually became slower...
I assumed from the get-go that it was going to be just for the advanced critical shot (this slice).
But thenI read the Smuggler FAQ and it it indicated a 10% chance to do DOUBLE damage on any shot. Which kinda makes sense that anyone should be able to use it since there shouldnt be a slice for just a single bounty hunter special, not when there are only 3 slices to choose.
But alas it is currently as expected only a adv. critical shot multiplier (probably coded as a double chance of hitting adv critical for a +critical+)
If it really was 10% of the time for double damage then that would be the equvalent of getting a 10% damage slice (but the highest damage slice is currently 8%) so it would be slightly worth it (2% damage gain over time)
The way it works now (only on adv critical) it depends on what the new critical hit chance iscompared to the old.If the new is 50% and the old was 25% when using adv critical, and you use adv critical 60% of your shots vs a target, then do the math and the net gain is only 3.5% (far lower than a 8% damage slice).
