Thread: Carbine...worth the 3.5m???
I paid 3 mill for my Carb. Here are the stats after the SAC PuP:
1064 Max Damage
2.25 Unmodded Speed (1.3 Modded)
57 SAC
It's a great gun.

I like the proton carb myself, but the SAC is a little high (85) and I like a carbine with accuracy bonus. A SAC PUP would prolly fix that, but I've heard PUPs increase the rate of decay on the weapon.
As far as slicing goes, a speed slice will increase your speed, therefore increasing your DPS. If you do something like a level 3 damage slice instead, it will not increase your speed, but it will increase your damage range AND your DPS (usually almost as good as a lvl 3 or 4 speed slice). Personally, the best slice I've found is a level 3 damage slice, level 1 speed, and a level 1 critical chance (just for fun). I'm sure everyone knew allthis, but thought I'd throw it all in there.
I'm trying to get a really good carbine. I bought one yesterday for something like 1.8 mil. It's got 76 SAC, 420-1014 damage, 20 acc. bonus, 18% wound. The only thing that's bad is the speed. It was like 2.73 unmodified. And that makes it almost worthless because that makes the DPS low. My damage isn't quite what I want it to be.

What's the DPS (unmodified)? It sounds uber.

It will not hurt to do the quest to get it, but you will not be able to use it untill MBH. But since the quest is so incredibly easy(at least it is for someone with CL80. might want to take a friend or 2 if you are lower. but should not need a full group) I did it already at novice BH and it is sitting in my house till I master BH.
As a previous poster said, best slice would be lvl 3 damage, lvl 1 speed and lvl 1 crit hit. that will max the wep at 100% customization.

Ditto, you are correct. Trust me on this issue. Go run BH missions, wait until you get the blaster handler enancers, stack of 4. Then take them to a weaponsmith and get a master level carb made, forgot the name, all mine are named different. You will be able to reach 1068 damage, 72 sac, with speed at about 2. All before the slice, the slice the speed and crit chance and put a damage pup on it. This will make your damage at about 1180ish, 72 sac, and less than 2 speed. This is the best you can do.

I haven't ever looted any blaster handler enhancers and I've been NPC hunting since the new publish came out. I wish I could get some.
But I thought a capped SAC on a carbine was 73.....

I think the cap is 72, thats what the WS making it said anyway. yea I was very lucky to get that find, just keep hitting them bh missions and you should get some at some point. Good luck.
