Thread: Stopping Shot
Stopping Shot is probably one of the main reasons I chose Pistoleer as a secondary profession aside from Commando, that and the fact that the specials of this tree would make up for the bugged Commando profession until fixed. So I was wondering what those of you who have attained Stances and Grips III think of Stopping Shot? How well does it work vs. players, NPCs, and creatures? I am curious to see how it would affect a heavily armored vehicle like a AT-ST.
Once I have it, it will go quite well with my Launcher Pistol.
This is, of course, not taking into considerations all the deductions that 1800 would have had from the armor and resistances of the creature I was shooting at. In actuality, it probably did 900.
that being said, I don't think I or any other pistoleer could kill your merek in less thatn 10-12 shots. (and that's if we're all getting really lucky and hitting near the max damage everytime)
Furthermore, your merek should have been able to easily dispatch the pistoleer before he got those 6 shots off. He was probably a bounty hunter and had uber armor on.
Are the merek avengers vulnerable to energy? If so, the guy might have been smart, changed to a scout blaster, and pwned it.
Stopping shot is very erratic. sometimes it does great damage, to the same pool, a few times in a row. And that's pretty much a death sentence. Other timees the damage is low and spread out amongst the pools and it's little better than harsh language.
What was the speed of this guys attacks? I bet he was a BH too ![]()
I suggest armor.
All elite combat professions can kill in about 2 shots.
Carbines have cripple shot which I've seen will hit 1300 in PvP.
Rifleman have strafe shot.
Pistoleers get stopping shot.
I wear armor. I don't get 2 shotted by people.
Stopping shot, for PvE use, is pretty useless. In PvP it can be effective once a player has gotten their hams knocked down slighty to really drop them.
In either situation though, until you get a lot of speed built up(at least Master Pistoleer) the delay times are going to make it so outside of using it against weak mobs to drop them in one shot, the only other use you'll have for it is as a finishing blow.
