Ok, here's the deal. I respec'd to CH after the Complete Unbalance (I mean Combat Upgrade) went live. Now, before anyone flames me for being a respec CH, My first char was a zabrak CH/Pikeman, so although I didn't 'learn' CH this time round, I'm not an overnight CH either. Anyway, get to the point. I've recently hit Master Rifles, but I'm not entirely convinced it was the best choice as I get ALL the aggro, and my melee defence is aweful. I was just wondering if it was worth using my token respec to learn a prof that would be more harmonious with CH? A couple of guildies have suggested Swordsman, TK or possibly Pistols as a way to go. I was just wondering what people here thought.

If stupidity got us into this mess then why can't it get us out of it?

I don't need to hate people on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, nationality, or any of those other things. 30 seconds of conversation usually does the trick.

I love being TKM/ MCH because Ienjoy fighting side-by-side with my pets. I did the MCH/ MRifles thing and it worked alright, and I would let my pets hit the target for a while before I joined in so I wouldn't draw agro, but it just wasn't as fun. With TKM I can heal my own wounds, I don't ever have to buy armor, I get CoB, and with a set of Kataran Knucklers I can do some solid damage. Not to mention Taunt comes in VERY handy if a pet is drawing agro and is being overwhelmed. Swords is also good because it's the heavy-damage dealers of the Brawler set, but to I'd rather have all the advantages mentioned above.

TK is great if you inticipate taking the aggro. TK would be best used with several lower level pets. Pistoleer is great if you plan on havingone high level pethold aggro. Pistoleer aid the pet in the sence that you can perform multiple nerfs on your target while your pet chews away at it.

I'm guessing that after the CU there isn't one 'perfect partner' profession that works with CH?

i respeced from MCH/MRifleman to MCH/Pistols (+BH0044) and i m doing quite well. my specials doing low damage keeping the agro with my pets and supporting my pets by adding all kind of states to the target (reducing the damage my pets take and increasing the damage my pets do). if the agro breaks i have stopping shot to root the target - so i hardly ever get into melee range (even thou i have some nice defensive values).
i also have some high damage combos (the dps come from the high speed of pistol specials) i use to finish the fights (after a knockdown form underhand shot).

btw the BH0044 gives me nice easy solo BH missions (invest 0 = same planet and defined WP). 15K missions for one CL81 to CL84 mob (good payout for 5 to 10 minutes work ). my pets doing very well against a single target - even a CL84 can be put down without a problem in short time.

Well I had killed some jedi with my MBH/MRM/CM 4-0-0-0 Template and decided to use my Respec Token for

MBH/MCM/P0-0-0-4

I get owned in a battle again. I think some of the problems I am having is that I was still wearing my Ubese with 8k+ Energy protection.. But I am hindered by this armor because I am not a master Pistoleer. Should I invest in some BH Armor and until then you think Composite would work? You think my problem was armor? I also use a PSG.

get yourself some 7K energy Battle armor. Assault is a waste, as it can only get high kinetic. PSG's arent needed at all, they dont effect the jedi pounding on you at all. Instead, pick up a non-decay belt, load it up with some mods. Other than that.... the problem with that template is that you just dont do alot of damage. Speed and Accuracy mods are lost due to the MCM. Your best bet is just de-buffing the jedi, and let him pound on you. Just wait till his mind gets low, then start hammering.

I would use Quad Energy Layered Battle Armor 75% AB Sliced. U gotta get used to your template learn it inside out. Check your combat tab in friendly jedi duels , see which specials do what type of damage, then build your jedi fighting tactics around that. You cant expect to respec and dive in there owning jedi left right and centre.

psg is useless against jedi ... buy battle armor from a GOOD 12+ armorsmith and make sure it has energy resists at 7100 or over ...

since you arent wearing a PSG ... buy a 4 slot bandolier .. and a 4 slot belt and pack your armor .. as well as a melee defense shirt and your belt and bandlier with as MANY ranged accuracy mods and speed mods you can get ...after that pack the rest with melee defense mods ...pick up a 3 boxes in ranged accuracy or ranged speed .. or melee defense in the force sensitive tree ...

The original template you had was rather good, I most likely would have stuck with it as I think its a fairly good template it its own right, but I think MCM/MBH/Pistol0004 will prove to be the more consistent template.

They're two very different styles of Jedi-killing in my mind. Your MBH/MRM is a quick, fast, dirty fighter, get big hits in and get them in quick to destabilize the Jedi. The problem is, once the Jedi recovers from the intial attack, you'll likely go down pretty quick (no root, worthless snare, no paralyze). I see MBH/MRM as a BH that 'fights against the red', that is tries to knock the Jedi's health to 0 as quickly as possible.

That said, the MCM/MBH is like a grindstone you press the Jedi against. Time is always against the Jedi in this situation and your goal is to get the Jedi's Mind and Force down. You fight against the blue and purple, pushing those bars to zero before attacking the health directly.

As for your equipment. You should use battle definately, as high of energy resists as you can, and get it Armor Break sliced to 75%. The PSG doesnt matter, get a modded belt. And Remember, as 0004 Pistoleer you dont *have* to use a Pistol (mods are only +40 or so) especially if you have SEAs for other weapons. I carry a few different weapons and switch from ALR to HCSP and back as the situation warrants.

You can get padded armor in the 7K energy resist range that should work well. Absolutely take off the ubese.

Here are some more general tips for the tmeplate (my template is MBH MCM Pistols 1xx3)

Get buffs form a doc before hunting. Take Muon Gold and Ahirisa cake (for mind), also ruby beil and vassarian brandy, citros, air cake, and last but not least duetorium pyro (pop the pyro every third time you hear the duelist macro alarm below). You can add a few more foods to your liking. (I prefer Muon Over Booster Blue before anyone wonders).

Start the attack and use KD, Toros, Adv Crit, then paralyze and lay states as the Jedi rises, Fire first ,then poison, you can get both in before he moves, then use stopping shot , get it for your temp if you don't have it, back away and alternate between torso and adv crit. Keep your fire and poison dots up and laythyroid ruptureto slow them down andTraumatize for mind debuff .. Now heal, KD recovery and use variations of the stuff above and you'll win more than you think. You can also get creative and cause disease, lay some more debuffs, the gold and ahirsa should really keep your mind up and that is the key, forget running him out of force, run him out of mind (check the last pic in my sig and look at the Jedi's mind and look at my mind, I never stopped laying states and healing the whole time and I am almost full with the foods and buffs, it was about a 10 minute fight)

Add a duelist macro (this is very important as it adds 250+ defense) this will help alot as well :

/duelists;
/pause 26;
/alarmaddin 0 0 STOP, DUELIST!!
/pause 1;
/macro Duelist

Be sure to use the following for deathblow so that the macro does not interfere:

/dump
/deathblow
