Thread: Should jedi be able to wear PSG's?

What i mean by this is if jedi can't wear armor, and a PSG is a type of armor ( isn't it ? ) then why can they wear a PSG?
Not trying to start a flame war just want to view peoples opinions.
The Devs probably look at it from an encumberance standpoint. The whole "magic users can't wear plate mail" view.

And besides....why are you asking this here....they hate us here....in fact.....GO THERE!
Jedihave innate armor, and the option to build that armor up through defender...so no,Jedi don't need armor. now psg's? i don't see a problem with that honestly. I'm sure a MDef with a psg and socketed belt is quite a tank to take down, but if you take your average dabbler template with a psg you're dealing with a similar situation as if you were taking on a tk with one.(defensewise)Next thing I'm expecting is someone to question wether or not Jedi should be allowed to have swoops, use public shuttles, or be able to eat food.

Jedi don't need armor? It's like saying 'hey, nobody needs armor, they can just pick up TKM'.

i get crumbs everywhere anyhow
don't get me wrong...as I read Tales of the Jedi and see all of the knights running around in marabi armor I think 'that's neat'. But the opportunity for defenses is there. Anyone with master defender wanting even more defense via a suit of armor kinda stumps me.

Well, difficult issue.
I'd say that it is quite alright that the jedi are not allowed to wear armour - they never did in the movies and it seems quite likely that there was a reason for this (besides, it would violate the concept of the jedi class; ninjutsu-warriors do not wear armour either, it is agility and discipline that gives them their strength.).
Regarding PSGs, well, I'd say they shouldn't wear them for logical reasons (it again basically violates their canon-concept).
