You lose XP becuase that is the way the game is designed, it is a trade off for being the ALPHA class. You are not weak, everytime someone post like this, someone else talks about how Jedi are underpowered. In a 1v1 battle and the Jedi knows a BH is there, the Jedi should win everytime... if you don't then its a skill problem not a profession problem.

Should you have let him kill you, NO. That would just be retarded because obviously the goal is for you not to die and he didnt do his job.

i have a pre-CU jedi and a mbh/mcm...im not some nublet to pvp either and it is not that jedi is underpowered it is that bh is overpowered because there r people i cant beat with my jedi but i can win everytime on my bh. Jedi might be a alpha class but the profession is so broke that a good bh is more powerfull that a very good jedi... btw both my jedi and my bh have over 1700 pvp ratings and all i do is pvp when im online.

Your job is to stay alive, his is to make you die. Running is fair.

However, I have a question for you.

If you weren't willing to take the fight to the logical conclusion (with your or his death), why did you fight the second time? THAT'S what he's probably most irritated about. I hope he sits in wait to tag you later. And don't be surprised if he does a tripple cap... I know I would. And don't be surprised if he uses every trick in the book, AND calls his friends to watch you die, AND posts a screen shot of your death on every forum, AND add the screen shot of your death in his sig.

In fact, if he does show up, I"LL add the screen link to my sig.

But again, nothing wrong with running.

Safe hunting.

Why did I fight a second time? Easy, I wanted to fight him and I certainly need the practice.. I enjoy PvP encounters. However, if we are having a good time fighting one another...why should I have to loose something in the end? I fought him and had fun. In the end I decided not finish off a fun encounter by loosing XP. Time will only tell what I do to finish my next encouter.

Did he have fun as well, or just you? Didn't sound like it from his response. If he didn't have fun, then you were just screwing with him. That's fine - the BH should have known better than to take you on the second time, and should have laid in wait later. And then post, and screen-shot, and invite friends, etc.

He said they were good fights.....just not to terribly excited about the ending.

If you weren't willing to take the fight to the logical conclusion (with your or his death),

Your logic missed the third conclussion which is to fend him off, leave, and live to fight another day.

You didnt do anything wrong. You lose a lot of XP for a loss to a BH the BH will lose nothing if you kill him.

When ever I get to Jedi I will do anything I need to in order to not lose to a BH, within the game's rules.

Actually, he already did that... the question I had was if he was just going to repeat the option you mentioned, why did he do it in the first place? I'm not arguing with his decision to run, but to run a second time.

That's where the logic fails me. Why would someone repeat the same action when they know they would run again. Either fight, or run. Either way, be decisive about it.

He should have declared and gone in or left. I declare either factionand stand toe to toe killing their shocked carcasses in there.

I always declare the faction of my mark.

It is so easy to jump factions now since we can run missions for either side while on leave. More BH should use this tactic.

Famine101Wrote: ___________________________________________________________________________________________

I am one of the many Jedi who also havea BH....and last night I ended a BH encounterd by going into a factional base. Even worse, I did it twice. Once I regenned from the first encounter, I came back out to confront the BH again and eventually retreated to the base a second time. They were both good fights and I enjoyed them. Since this was my first BH encounter, I really learned a lot and was able to try different tactics.

This all leads to the reason for the post. In the end, the BH was mad (and rightly so), but his comments were funny. His comments were along the lines of "Come on, this is rediculous....I have given you two good fights.I agree with hum, but I do not think that I owe him my lifebecause we had two fights. Especially when he had nothing to loose from the encounter.

Thoughts?

You are a weak and scared Jedi. You only fight until close to the end when you know your going to lose you run to save your life. I'm a bounty hunter and i say if you can, or if you got it, use it. I once had a mark laying down bases and he was inside when i got there. He telled me asking if i was here for him and i said yes. I talked with him for a while, I did the sales pitch thing and let him know i was a noob and for him to come out and save me a drive back. After a little while thats what he did, he came out and lost, but I hold allot of respect for that guy now and if he asked me I just might not hunt him if i dont want too. He is a very honorable Jedi, and i have met quite a few more that i hold in high respect. I tell you this story just because it was my experience. But i got to tell you there is nothing wrong with what you did. You can call what you want to, i just call it playing safe. AKA-Weak and Scared! But safe. In the very end though, its a bounty hunters job to make you run, dissapear or die. So his mission is accomplished! Just not paid. BTW I'm not trying to flame you, im just speaking the truth for this one incident. You could be a total person than this post. So no flaming here.

My first thought is that if you think he is right to be mad you shouldn't be confused.

My second thought is that if you are also a BH how can you think he has nothing to lose. He spent a lot of time, energy, and money tracking you down and fighting you. He lost all that. He could have been running missions on Dantooine with people. So you cost him a lot by not taking the fight to it's logical conclusion.

First off, I never said I was confused. I put out this topic just as a discussion item. And that is what I am getting..

Second, there is no way that you can tell me that running a BH mission takes a lot of time and resources. It certainly does not match up to the time I will have to spend recovering the XP that I loose.

The fun in all of this was the fights. I fought him once on his terms, and a second time on my term. Why the second fight if I was just going to run? I wanted to see if I could beat him. I am not a full template Jedi, I do not have an uber saber and I have not had any other BH encouters. I wanted to try everything out that I had been working on. Get a little practice in. Not once was I scared becuase I knew that I could get away from him. Even when the first fight started away from any bases.
