Thread: So we'd better loose the Master box when hunting NPC marks ?
I have been platin since 2 months into this game. I consider myself an oldschool bh. I rmember having to walk to my marks (no shuttles or mounts then) and you couldnt have cm in there cause you had to master scout and marksman to get novice bh. I do have a problem with masters getting the same loot as novices if not worse loot than novices.
Investigation branch is one of the toughest to do without going insane espeacially back then and it is a bit disheartening when the rewards arent as good as they maybe should be.
things an MBH gets now over novice:
1. More money for marks (whoopdee doo)
2. Ability to hunt jedi (while intriguing not all bh's want to do this)
I have seen some posts about "scaling" the quality of loot to the tier of investgation and that seems ok to me. I am not complaining at all i will continue to play as a bh until i leave this game and it wont be soon. I think a novice bh will get along ok with a slight drop in loot quality seeing as how they are getting a slight pay increase per mission as a bh.
The last item i wanted to touch on is why on earth do lower cl marks give better loot than higher ones. WHile i was grinding bh recently i dropped master box to test this theory and its true. i was lvl 72 and took on lvl 78 marks and got trandoshan crap on 8-10 marks, at that same lvl 72 i took on lvl 72-73 marks and got bh schematics and clothing attachments. makes no sense i would gladly take the 1k difference in payout for the easier mark and better loot lol. I am sure many bh's out now are doing the same thing. i feel this is something that needs to be addressed .

Well I've done so many master missions now that i don't remember what the payout is for novice...
That said : can you tell us what kind of marks you get ? what CL ? What is your own CL ? And what is the average loot drop ?

Sure bro. Now remember this was a few weeks ago since I re-mastered BH. But I was getting alot better loot. I started the invest tree at Cl 74 I think. I always picked mish's that were 2 lvls difficulty below me. Because when they spawned they would always spawn +2 from what you picked i.e. if you picked a70 mish, the guy would normally be cl 72 when you got there. I also chose that because, if you lucked out and got a mark that wasn't elite or wasn't below your cl level I was gauranteed good loot.
When I was grinding 10k invest exp. I got a full BH suit and extra parts in 2 days. Yes that's right, 2 days. Now i've been weeks and I just got the last part for my second suit, because I made a trade to get the last schem. And I got ca's and aa's. Granted they were mostly crap, but if you read my other post, you'll see that this game does not like me and refuses to drop anything good for me. And i've been playing for just under 2 years now.
I have often times thought about dropping back to x444 BH, just so I can run mish's on the same planet, just hop to city to city. And for the record, I only had a few bugged mishs. Wich who cares, cause I just jumped back on the shuttle, then drove 200m back to the term.....lol. I would drop back myself, but I know as sure as your reading this, that it will be hotfixed to where only MBH can get the better loot. And I would rather take aelephant kick to the groin,then re-grind the investigation tree again.

Yeah I was hunting elite's all last night at CL70, 0.4.4.4 BH. I'm still getting used to the CU (been away a good few months) so I did need to do a bit of healing whilst fighting but they were on their arse most of the time.

Well, to answer your question... I'm a Master Bounty Hunter for the hunt, I'm not a loot wh0re. If the loot is more important to you than the challenge, you might as well drop the entire profession, because you're not really a bounty hunter anyway, you're just a garbage picker.Sorry to hear that Boss marks are too tough for you to get your loot from. I've heard that the Chunkers near the Dearic terminals drop some nice loot, they're only level 5 or 10 or something. You could always go after them - you know right where they are, they don't run and you don't even need droids to find them.

!Fact is, at the time I dropped it, we still had boss marks at any levels : so no they're definately not too tough for me, and dropping investigation was just to be able to hunt *more* meaning also more loot, which is also important. Now, unless flaming is your only wish, if you still want to check my view of the problem AND the sarcasm behind the original post, then go check my other posts on the BH forum and you sure will understand why that flame of yours was a little out of place here...

im a bh for that very reason. i don't care at all about pvp or hunting jedi, just loot.
