Question for ya.

How can I possiblly have saber envy when I have a Pre Publish 9 and a Village Jedi and about to unlock another on the next village phase on a third account?

I got sabers all over the place.

well lets face it the game is going to have a lot of jedi no way around it why hurt the new guy

There is a way arround it. Put in a system to reduce the population. I am willing to take the chance of losing my Jedi because when I bought this game over 2 years ago I was told Jedi were going to be rare. Now Jedi is FOTM because everyones got one. I do not want to be special. I will be the first person to say that there is nothing special about being a Jedi or unlocking one. If it was that would be different.

I unlocked my first Jedi by Grinding out 31 of the 32 professions in the game at that time. There was nothing special or hard about it, time consuming yes, but not hard by any means. It was hard to grind it though. 100XP per kill, saber TEF, Skill loss on BH death, Hunting on Dathomir solo running from any other dot that popped on the radar.

I unlocked my second Jedi at the village. Not hard by any means either, Did the retarded village quests to unlock the trees and instead of grinding multiple professions I had to grind the same profession 30x over. Nothing hard about that either, just time consuming. Didn't bother grinding that Jedi, really only did it for the free char slot.

Now there is basically no penalty and it is very time consuming to unlock Jedi, but once you do it is easy as hell to grind to full template. My friend just did it in 2.5 weeks. And he was ATK the whole time and he has a Job monday thru friday.

If this game is going to be Jedi Wars then change it. Make it a Clone Wars time period game and let everyone make a Jedi and give them NPC pets to fight with them depending on how high they are.

I am looking out for the new guy, I would like this game to be arround for a long time. I have looked at all the MMO's out there and ones coming out, and none of them have the potential still that this game had and still has. But it is continually being F'd up by SOE pandering to the whiners and the kiddies, who have the attention span of a gnat, instead of to those of us who have stuck it out for 2 years waiting for the game we were promised when we bought it.

If you want to be a Jedi you can do that in KOTOR I and II anytime you want, what the hell is so original about that?

You can't have perma-death in a system where the player's primary toon is the Jedi, instead of the second slot. That was one of the reasons why, back in the daze, that Jedi couldn't own structures; if the system deletes the toon, what happens to their stuff? (semi-rhetorical question there ) You also can't have perma-death be the result of a single lost battle, because there are the occasional LD's because the player lost their 'net connection, or power (especially if they live in Florida: Florida Power & Light - Worst Utility Company Ever), or something else beyond their control (liers about why they went LD be damned).

And forget about skill loss. That went out the same door as perma-death.

Several weeks ago, I suggested on the Jedi forum a "tempo-death" system (among other things), very similar to what some here have called a "blue glowie". Some people liked the idea, others hated it because they didn't want to be told they couldn't login to their toon (some had good reasons, like paying maintenance on structures and participating in guild management meetings, and what not).

Personally, I would cancel my account if I lost my primary toon. I've become emotionally invested, and losing that toon would feel like having a virtual friend die.

But I am all in favor of a system that adds more risk to playing a Jedi character, since in the ostensible time-frame of the game it's supposed to be a very risky proposition indeed.

You are right. With as many as there are now it would be unfair to alot of players to have perma death for Jedi. But it is definitlly out of control.

Personally I would much rather see Jedi be a game withing the game, Another Level of the game, with it's own content. A Jedi vs Sith war, behind the scenes of the GCW of normal professions. I have suggested this for well over a year now and still nothing.

Something has to be done, or this game is not going to make it another year, IMO.

i also agree as i am a jedi but it pis$es me off when you have people throwing around stupid ideas. Lets put it this way....takes the average person to get jedi about 4-6 months......with perma death all that goes to waste! Fu(K that $hit....im not paying $15 a month to restart everytime a mcm comes after me and kils me.

How bout no? My main character is not going to be perma-deathed. If he does, I quit the game, and I think alot of other people would too.

...Posting rants on these forums is like a rocking chair; it gives you something to do, but it doesn't get ya anywhere... write that down.
