Maybe you should pick up BH carbines. You get +115 carbine speed.
I know i could go some BH to get more speed/accuracy, but that's not really the point
With my +25 speed SEAs, mastering marksmen would give me +90, which would cap a number of realistic weapons (pre-requisite of BH).
I suppose maybe Carbineer is balanced and the other profs are overpowered (an idea i've read on thisboard before). Even with +25 speed, (+85 with master, +90 with marksmen) you still could not shoot any weapon at the speed cap (although i think you'd be pretty close).
My template doesn't really let me go the BH route (too many points for not much gain), although depending on how i find carbineer with +85 speedi might ![]()

Anything over +100 is pointless, because the speed in the game is borked.

Didn't somebody cover this in the FAQ????
No, actually.
I understand perfectly how the speed equation works. My questions relate to why Carbineers have such crap speed at Master.
I have just reached +60 speed (3xxx with +15 sea), ie i'm at the stage where i would be if i was a Master, without any tapes. At +60, you are slow (i'm from a melee background, where TKM/Fencer effectively cap at master, and i was a speed capped swordsman until recently).
Has it historically always been 60, or was it nerfed down for some reason? Why is it so low, what were the developers thinking? (30 speed less than Riflemen, who logically should be firing slower). What do they think balances Carbineer, ie what do we have that justifies a lower speed?
+85 probably will be enough for me to be effective (2.4 spd, 535 max laser carb
), but that needs +25 in sea, which for the population as a whole, isn't likely.

My suspicion is that the professions were thrown together at some point in the beta process with no real ryhme or reason as to why certain professions got certain skills and why some high high or low numbers. Since there has been no balancing of the professions, those original numbers have remained.
In reality, all the professions should end up with the same +speed at master. If you understand the speed equation, it is math and then based on the weapon reload. So, each profession should end up with same speed so that weapon reload determines which classes fire fast and which slow. Any other method results in an in ability to balance the professions at some point leveling (novice -> master).
Yea, it's so simple ![]()
