Another way to go, if you've got the skill points to throw around is to dabble in Pistoleer and Smuggler with your MCH. I've done this as well and it was a great combo. Pistoleer gives you the beautiful resists, multiple target hit, and melee knockdown while smuggler gives you the delay of panic shot, a hard hitting single target to replace stopping shot (or crippling shot from carbineer) and a ranged knockdown. Just make sure to get your pistoleer speed up as high as you can if you go this route, it'll make Lastditch from the smuggler tree insane.

Carbineer: Mid-damage & speed, Leg Shot, Cripple shot, no KD, but very good snares, can get some decent carbines with mid/low SAC and good damage.
Pistoleer: High speed & lower damage, best root and states, can get some decent pistols with mid/low SAC and decent damage.
I chose carbs because it keeps you out of Lightsaber range (should you hunt Jedi), while Pistols keeps you fairly close, which can be a disadvantage.
Armor is an issue you need to look into as well, Combat for Carbineers, I think Recon for Pistoleers (which you should have from Rifleman). Though decent armor can be had for the Carbineer (energy layered Padded/RIS/BH).
It all just depends on your playstyle I guess. You were an alpha-striker with Rifleman, but with Pistols/Carbs you have to be a bit more tactical.

i was a long time Master Pistoleer /MBH but switched to carbines for more damage. honestly im seeing a little bit more damage, but not enough to compensate for the lack of states. Intimidate shot (from pistoleer) reduces tagets damage by 20%, disarm shot is a short term mez, and you have to love the root.
its also alot easier to get a high quality pistol because all the pistols worth making only need 1 enhancemnt, so if u get that 1, 2, or 3 stack of Uber Power cells you can make 3 good pistols, vs 0 good carbines.
leg shot and cripiling shot are nice though.
if they actually nerf healing (a rumor is floating around on TC) then i might drop CM 4000 and do Master Pistols, MBH 0400 Carbs (or w/e the line is with legsoht/cripiling shot)

Hi im looking for a new ranged profession to fit in with my MBH template, Ive already done Rifleman i wanna try something new and fun now, But im a bit confused someone told me "Pistoleers better it has lower SAC and just as much damage as carbineer". Is that true? Im looking for the better damage out of the 2 but i also want there to be decent action useage. Please help me out and give me some info on Carbineer and pistoleer.
(Member im looking for the better damage) =P
Be true to yourself. Do them both. Grind each one out and try it. Then pick the one you like the best. When you have done this, share your experience with the community.
You'll like parts of each, you really need to try them both.
