Thread: A Solution to the Kashyyk Problem From a Jedi

There are alot of Jedi who are disappointed in how Kashyyk is abused.

I agree. At least with a name, you can use a targeting macro and you just need to get within range of him to light him up.

Agreed, the wookies are fairly advanced technologically...however their jungles are "sacred" if I remember correctly, wouldn't droids like that sully their sanctified state? Also, speaking from a realistic standpoint, I doubt if they'll ever allow droids on kashyyk...they've said so. This is simply a solution that could satisfy all parties without keeping kashyyk as a very bad itch that we can't scratch, so to speak.

Using droids on kashyyk will probably never happen...it's against SWG canon, kashyyk is supposed to be all but devoid of such things. However, there can be another way.
I'm not sure what you mean here. Wookiees are a fairly high-tech race, and it would be the BH bringing the droids there.
If we're talking canon (the movies)- nothing is shown that would say "you can't use droids."
If we're talking EU (the books, Happy Meal fliers, Fruit Loops box backs, etc) then...maybe...I've read a lot of Star Wars books and eaten a lot of happy meals, and I've never heard that droids don't work on Kashyyk - or anything remotely close to that.
And50 Jedi (half /afk) slaughtering members of their race (feral or not) is not "desancitifying" their jungles?
here's the solution that should be brought in....
afk grinding first time, player reports. csr goes to check it out.confirms player afk. player suspended
afk grinding second time, player suspended longer
afk grinding third time, player banned.
it works in WoW so why cant it work here? simple answer... SWG does not have over 2 million players and counting.
I think it would add a lot more reality to the game to have to talk to 2 or 3 people who have 'seen' your mark, and have them tell you where they saw the mark last.
Sounds fun
The no droid thing on Kashyyyk is about as much movie canon as my left nut is. Its about creating havens for the 1351452156256252562456 Jedi coming out of the woodwork to grind without consequence, as is the group visability, the no names on BH terms etc etc. If it wasnt this it was the Geo caves, the Warren, on and on. Ya they can get wasted AFK grinding on Kashyyyk, but the xp is still worth it to sit there and continue. You dont even have to be at the keyboard.
Look, not flaming you, or putting you in this category. But lets face it, SOE made it this way, is keeping it this way, and has opened the doors for it.

Why not have Arakyd's give the name of the mark only if they are on Kash? Otherwise the BH would hafta get the name from a Seeker as usual.
WeCAN launch seekers just fine on Kash. They'll even let us know the mark has gone offline by not launching. (Dunno about off-planet "Bio signature not detected" results yet.
They just return the "Due to the number of life... yadda yadda" spam instead of any useful info when they track the mark.
Fine... disable "tracking" mode on Kash. But give us the namein "seek" mode. That's consistant with the system on other worlds. We can take it from there.
If you cant track and kill an afk jedi in only 6 instances you need to take up crafting. The ONLY reason to be on kashyyk now is to afk grind. You make 3 times the xp running missions on dant , gain 0 vis and 10k a mission.
The only BH's that have a reasonable arguement about Kashyyk are those that dont have the expansion.... but again, thats thier choice.
