well as a carbineer a mind DOT won't really be all that useful. We don't really have any effective means of attacking the mind pool with a carbine. Unless you have another proffession that specializes in mind damage it won't be much use short of running in, applying the DOT, and running out, hoping the dot will drain their mind pool and you can come back and play the 3:2:1 lotto hoping for the final mind hit to take them down.

If you are planning on using that carbine for strictly carbineer application it probably won't be much help. However if you plan on using it with another proffession that does mind damage, or maybe in a group with other people. Laying doing a mind DOT with one of our many AoE specials will likely help out in a group. Even if it won't benefit you directly it will help out your group greatly, especially if the same attack that is laying down the DOT also blinds, dizzys and stuns.

My take is that carbineer with a DoT weapon works really well. Put the DoT on them early, and then focus on keeping them with lots of states and alternately knockdown/posture change them.

dont know if this helps,

but a mind dot with carbs is not a bad idea.

I have noticed that my Sprayshot hits the Mind pretty hard quite often

Does anyone know, about how much damage a plasma flamethrower's DOT can tick for?

Max I've seen is around 396. It seems to really depend on the damage you do with attacks using innate fire DoT heavy weapons, but there is definately some sort of hardcap...

Generally you will notice tick rates between 250-350 damage. So they're not very powerful on their own regards, but they do help considerably in combat.

also, remember that knocking down your target before you put a DOT on them will make it tick for more.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

Wonder if it's tied to accuracy in some way. I'll try testing this out with, and without my accuracy mods worn. I also wonder if the smuggler overwhelming shot could cause a higher tick, if the DOT is considered a state attack. Personally, I have yet to see a DOT tick break 400.

I doubt it, hitting for over 2600 damage sometimes when I KD enemies...I have yet to see anything beyond 396.

So...if this was a function:

All Fire DoT damage in [150, 400). It approaches 400 but doesn't quite get there!

I regularly land flame DoTs with Ranged Shot that burn for about 375+, but I have yet to break 400 as well. Also,I seem to land DoTs more often, and a bit stronger, with the Flamethrower, versus the Plasma Flamethrower.

Might just be that I'm not paying enough attention.
