What are the visibility rules anyways?

Short answer, don't use any force powers around anything that has money (this includes players as well as npcs) within 32m that touches your force bar.

Don't use force powers.

Don't put on or take off your paddy robes.

Don't equip or unequip your saber.

But right now, under the new system, we can't be certain. Force Run, for example, is ok to go zipping by people as long as they're not withing 32m when you activate it.

Force cloak is an unknown. It pulses in force cost (think of it as a variable damage DoT to your force bar). So it may, or may not, cause vis when you're by a player or NPC when it pulses. Personally, I don't think it does-just from my own very unscientific observances.

not if you make sure you are 32m away when you hit cloak, unless it gives vis while active, which would be dumb, so it prb does work that way after all....

So True. BRAVO DEVS.

Any which way I will try to stay off the terms when I get to doing this template, and if I get on I will enjoy my SNARE, BURST, CLOAK

LOL.

Just kidding... Kinda...

Ok, you already know that wearing your armor means you can't use force skills. Here's the problem. Force cloak is gonna cost you (8+8+6+4+2) 28 points. Those are points you effectively throw away by wearing armor.

That's where you start getting into the slippery slope of hybridness. So you dump more points into Jedi skills (Defender) to help make up for the lost armor. To be very effective, that's 3 trees. Now you're looking at 28 for cloak PLUS (8+24+18+12+6) 68 points. Now you're sitting at a total of 86 points into Jedi. Combined with the points required for Jedi initiate and the points for MBH, that leaves 9 points to get some healing and offensive skills.

*shrug* Not really. It's not like there weren't hybrid BH's running around cloaked and ganking Jedi post-CU and before, or anything.

I've still got a ways to go before unlocking my jedi, but just for fun I've been playing with hybrid templates on the template calculator. I've been looking at 2 interesting combinations.

1.MBH/CM 4404/Enhancer 0004

Obviously the idea here is a pure jedi hunting template designed specifically for wearing a jedi down. I have heard that Force Drain is a dreaded PvP tactic, but as I have never been a jedi, I'm not sure how effective it really is. If it does in fact drain enough force to be useful, this has the potential to be a devastating template. By opening up with Paralyze, then an application of CM poison, fire, and debuffs it should be possible to kite the jedi while continuing to drain their force. Weapon skills would suffer with this template, but with some tapes and speed/accuracy foods a decent amount of damage should be able to be dealt while kiting as well.

The biggest drawback to the template from my perspective is the lack of armor. With no armor, if you get caught by a MLS you'll probably be dead before you canheal/root andget back to kiting distance. If you can keep moving, stay on your feet, and keep the jedi from running/cloaking,you should be able to come out on top. As I said though, I'm basingthis on the presumption that force drain actuallydrains enough force to be worthwhile.

2.MBH/MDef./Marksman 4014

This template just seems like fun foran excellenttanking template. Melee defense is 350, and Ranged defense is 355 before duelist stance, valor, or aura. Jedi innate armor is also included, so no need to wear armor which should add to the element of surprise and save some money. I'm not sure if duelist stance stacks with valor and aura, but if it does, you should be nearly unhittable.

Thethree drawbacks here are the lack of damage potential given the low weapon skill, the complete absence of healing ability, and half the force bar of a full template. The damage potentialshould be able to be compensated for, as even with the limited marksman skills you are only 40 points off of master rifleman speed and accuracy. Provided the fight is short, Stim Ds and Rubly Bliel should keep you alive. As to the force issue, without any healing, you should be dead before you run out of force if something goes wrong anyway.

The biggest plus to me with this template is that it is not entirely jedi centric. This should make a fantastic tanking template for any PvE or PvP encounter.

I'd love to hear any feedback people have in regards to either of these templates. I'd especially love to hear from and jedi out there that would be willing to give me some more input on how exactly the abilities I'm looking at would work.

MBH

Force Healer 4040

Force Defender 0040

Force Enchancer 0004

You get all the offensive power of mbh, all the defensive abilities of the jedi. And you prevent the jedi from regenerating mind and action with the force sap plus you can force drain the jedi. force aura and defensive stance seem to stack so youd get +700 defenses bonus on top of the 150 melee defense (before tapes) you get. not bad ey?

You can switch a few around for best effect depending on your playstyle:

MBH

Force Healer 4000

Defender 0040

enchancer 0002

Powers 0400

for the sneaky surprise monkey.

you could use armor and have cloak on at the same time you just have to use cloak with out armor first just like if you still have the certs as a jedi you can use force run then equip armor so you can take damage while running from the BH's
