if i ever saw one run into the water and go ld, i'd whip out my combat droid and let him kill the jedi. Yes, combat droids will attack jedi while in water.

OK, so yesterday, i grab a mission, get the info on where he is, identify and track etc...
Mark is on Naboo, i get there, eat/drink my buffet and casually stroll over to the cantina. My mark is inside and i get ready to open up. but.... LD
Now i know that some bounty hunters advocate taking the mark right then and there but, to be honest, where is the fun in that? I drop the mission and wait around for around 10 minutes, and see that my mark has come back online. I was chatting to a few people around him and then ./tell him that i had his mission and dropped it because he was LD and offer him a friendly duel with no DB. He buffs up and we go at it for around 5 mins. He beat me but we stayed in the cantina and i couldn't be bothered to try and get him outside and use the range to my advantage.
Afterwards, i say good fight and go on my merry way. a few hours later, reading through my mails, i notice that my mark has tipped me 400k credits, i /tell him that he didn't need to do that but that i was grateful.
I'm not saying that every bounty hunter should think about not killing a LD or AFK jedi, but really, where is the fun in taking out a mark that offers no resistence whatsoever?
I would have been paid 226k for killing an afk Jedi and i also would have probably lostrespect from many people as this particular Jedi is active in PvP as am i.
I'm quite sure that long term bounty hunters who are respected for their skills would have done the same thing and just dropped the mission. If not, thats their perogative. Just goes to show that a little honour in this fringe profession can pay dividends

Taking pity money from a Jedi that beats you up isn't honor its pathetic. If you aren't going to kill your targets than don't bother picking up a mission. Competent bounty hunters kill there targets not accept handouts like a bum.

Did you read it properly? I didn't ask for it, i didn't even realise he'd done it, i was TOO BUSY HUNTING AND KILLING jedi that were at their keyboards!
Competent bounty hunters(skilled) get no pleasure in killing an afk jedi... now THAT's pathetic. ![]()

Its nice that you prefer the challenge of the battle, insted of being like these other typical as$hats just out to grief a player, no matter what the situation. cause they are afraid of getting the crap stomped out of them, in a fair fight.

I guess that's the difference between Dog the Bounty Hunter (with his own TV show) and the guy who came to my store in MN.
Personally, if before I engage a mark, ina public place where they were doing something and they suddenly go LD I'll give'em the benefit of the doubt. I've had more client crashes since the last hotfix than I did the entire year previous. Now if I'm fighting someone and they go LD or they see me coming and go LD, well tough.

There is absolutely no problem with killing a player who is LD either. Its totally up to the individual to decide how he wants to play his toon.
If you look up the definition of a bounty hunter you will find this - SOMEONE WHO PURSUES FUGITIVES OR CRIMINALS FOR WHOM A REWARD IS OFFERED
That is the only fact you must follow, anything after that is up to the player. I personally would kill a LD Jedi as I am after the cash and nothing else. I don't want honor or recognition, I just want to complete my contract, kill my mark and get the credits. However I don't think there is anything wrong with what the OP did, that's up to him, we need variety in the game, if we all play the same we will be likedroids or something
