ignore this person, getting a really high dps number looks "cool" and may impress the other people that don't know what's going on, but people that know what is going on would add a damage pup to a speed sliced gun and having +25 carb speed and +25 general ranged speed pretty much makes the speed pup worthless. even if you don't have +25 to both those i'd recommend damage pups for a top end carbine.

Been looking through many of the help sites and couldn't find any info on the Bola Carbine quest. Can anyone PM me with the details or what not.

Yeah i dont ssee the point in stacking speed mods like that... personallly i go with the speed slices and power pups on all my top end weapons.. get them crafted with the SAC cap and with proper food/spice management you should be fine

- When considering diminishing returns on speed, I'd say damage or SAC powerup can easily be more usefull.
- See if you can find an Uber Nym's Slugthrower Carbine. I have one that is about 100 damage per shot higher than my Proton carb when used against a PSG wearing Jedi..... and that's with a damage pup on proton and no pup on Nym's. (tested in friendly duel) 695 seems to be the cap on regular damage.... plus about 170 cap on elemental damage. Total damage is nearly 870 max... but the real nice number is the min....which is usually actually higher than a lot of crafted carbs..... so, you can actually HIGHER than an "uber carb" versus a high defense mark (MDef) BEFORE you take PSGs into account.
- somthing to think about..... speed Pups/sliceand damage Pups/slice both increase damage per second, but speed pups will make you use more SAC per second
- somethin to think about 2... speed bonus points and acc bonus points both increase the damage per second, but extra acc doesn't make you use more sac

Don't PSGs only reduce reduce damage for the first couple of hits then they have to recharge to be effective again? I know that whenever I'm wearing a PSG it doesn't seem to do very much versus people using Ranged Energy weapons. It may reduce damage taken from time to time but it's nothing game breaking. Fact is it seems that you can get an Elite Carbine with so much higher damage than a Czerka that you'll be doing more damage through the PSG with Energy attacks anyhow.
So far as the best carbine goes - I'd cast my vote for the Elite Carbine since it has no profession requirements.

Check out the Kalronos Carb awesome elemental damage... But the best is a Elite or E11 Mark II made with enhanced power cells

From my experience if they have a PSG on your damage will remain crap throughout the fight. The czerka caps at mid 900's for max damage. It does more damage than the nyms. But if you cant find shards or the other loot to make a czerka pickup a nyms. My 1046 elite will suck vs a psg. Just fyi I have a 1184 laser rifle and a 988 fallan hyper rifle. The 988 rifle hits alot higher than the 1184 when they have a psg on. PSG's block crazy damage so go for kinetic if you can.
