What needs to happen is the devs need to make a system where Jedi is next to impossible to achieve. Most of you might notknow this, but Jedi wasnt part of the original design of the game. I was added in because the player base as a whole demanded it. The current system makes Jedi to easy to get. The devs wanted a system where you got Jedi in about a year. Not 4-5 months like it is now. Couple things the devs screwed up on.. 1. The system get Jedi is to easy 2. Once you get Jedi the grind is even easier on Kashyyyk. All of this amounts to a flurry of Jedi in a matter of months like it is now.... So instead of Jedi being rare, you have servers where it seems like they overrun the place. I can login to my server and run into a Jedi within 60 seconds... Its sad.

I agree, it is a sad state of the game when you can't swing a dead cat without hitting Jedi, but seeing a Doctor is a super rare experience. Still, the genie is out of the bottle and can't be put back in. Even if they cut off any new Jedi ever starting tomorrow, there will never again besuch a thing as Jedi being rare.

p.s. I think your sig is clever.

Far be it from me to tell a Bounty Hunter NOT to quit, but quitting won't fix this. The number of people willing to quit because "The timeline doesn't match the movies" isa drop in the bucket compared to the "I wanna be a Jedi!" population.

Also remember, a significant portion of the problem is the total and utter lack of an endgame besides Jedi. There is no other "alpha" grindable profession. It doesn't really *cost* anything to become a Jedi, as a matter of fact you get a second character. Most of the people I know doing the village now are simply doing it "because it's there". New advanced professions, that you could do instead of becoming a Jedi would probably solve a lot of the population problem.

I've played my Jedi about 25-30 hours the past week, thanks. When your sword/ranger tanks Necrosis, give me a call and I'll eat my hat. Jedi are intended to be an alpha class, I'm not sure why you need me to tell you this but feel free to look up about 1000 dev posts stating their overall view. If you want to lament the terrible state of Jedi, do it on the Jedi forums. And personally, my Jedi would whip the hell out of any melee class anyways =P

Another point to ponder:
The devs allowed a respec because they knew it would increase the Bounty Hunter population...in turn decreasing jedi or the desire to be one.
That's just a possibility, not neccessarilly true.

Then how do we explain Kashyyk...aka Jedi World?

One word... incomplete. The devs were forced to release RoTW long before they wanted to, and I'm sure the problems that make it jedi world are mostly bugs that need to be fixed.

I think what I read on the Jedi forums might have some merit. They could just be making it more difficult to become a Jedi so that all of the players with that goal will stay subscribed longer (as it will take longer to get Jedi, and of course many will stay subscribed at least until they reach that goal). Once someone reaches padawan, they don't want to give up, it would be like throwing away all their work.

I don't believe very many of them will actually quit just because BH's are on their tail - especially now when they know BH's will be constantly after them. It will probably just extend the time for them to actually reach Knight or FRS. In the end, that works out okay for BH's though, because the lower level they are - the more BH's will see them as viable marks.
