It used to be fun back in the days of TEF to lay waste to all of the noob fanboys who insisted on protecting their Jedi idols. I remember tracking a Jedi outside a player city and attacking. Unfortunately this was during the time of the lame Feign Death tactic and soon as I began attacking this Jedi feigned on me. There was this 5 second or so pause where I just looked at the companions of this Jedi (two melees) then all of a sudden one of the shouts "DIEEE!!!!" and began attacking me. Whipped out my Geonosian Sonic Blaster and kited them to death with eyeshot. Ah the fun times.

are you sure?

I do remember getting the noobs with there "uber" geo blaster that hit me for the whole 10 points of dmg in my 90% base 40% composite in top of my 50% stun res imp psg, running my cob macro and with my 3.9k janta buffs and 3k mind with moun gold and smuggler delight,

it only took couple hits with my mind fire gaffi, janta knife and my mind diseased sword to make them run away like noobs and getting incap 30 meters away, just to get triple incap and clone with 1/1 mind lol, I never even use my 500 power janta stims while figthing players using stun dmg lol.

Yes but these people were not wearing Composite with Stun layers - hence my reasoning that they were noobs. So far as those that did happen to be wearing Stun resistant armor - well I was never dumb enough to stand there spamming Eyeshot from a Stun weapon on those kinds of enemies. The most fun was switching between by Health DOT weapons and then nailing people with Torso Shot, Healthshot 1, Healthshot 2, and Bleeding Shot. Now that was a pretty nasty combo.

So far as the Fire weapons are concerned they weren't too big a deal IF you were near a body of water. I remember running up against a Jedi with a nasty fire sword once who did beat me but I did regroup and return after making a waypoint to a nearby body of water. I attacked this Jedi from afar and began kiting towards a body of water. Once she did finally land her fire I hoped in the water and then back out then blasted away her mind. Now the nastiest combos were the Combat Medics who would throw their powerful Diseases/Bleeds/Fires on your mind - that really hurt.

I was under the impression until recently that the person who challenged cannot /endduel. Anyway, I love stories like this -- it's great when an exploit attempt backfires.

You don't need to kick my bottom to make me think twice! I've already thought twice about it.

Somone else expressed it best, but the gist of the argument against using /duel in the manner discussed here was: "it is using an in-game mechanic, in an unintended fashion,to gain an advantage you otherwise wouldn't have. I.e., it's an exploit."

I don't believe I've heard a simpler or clearer definition of exploiting.

nice post ... I remember sitting in Theed cantina back in the day watching a pad feigning death as the bh burnt her ... the folks all applauded and convinced the bh he had the moral victory ... some of us started healing her ... as the bh walked away she attacked him ... not nice I thought but ok, she never actually agreed to end the fight ... next thing this dark templar gets up from his drink and 5 seconds later every rebel in the room is in the cloner ... now those were the days.

Speaking of noobs.... I had this one TKM/BH come for me back in the old days, and I saw him coming so had equipped all my armor and pulled out my rifle. And he was unarmored, yet still chose to attack me. The fight lasted for exactly one headshot. I never understood why he did that.

Hahaha!!!

I used to be one of those who would jump on a BH attacking a Jedi who I had been escorting. I never thought I would win and did it more for the integrity and rollplay of the event.

I miss those times...
