If this game were like the movies then there would be NO jedi at all. Since you pointed at that Bobba or Jango never used karate moves, I thought I should point that out.
The fact is a ranged bh is no match for a Master LS. Hell 5 ranged bh's are no match for a Master LS. A bounty hunter will use whatever means necessary to kill his mark. Right now the best way to do that is melee.

Hmmmmmmmm how could this be true ?????????
I never saw Boba og Jango kill Jedi with Karate thing, no a good blaster did thejob.
But somehow SOE kinda twisted the world BOUNTYHUNT is about ranged attack, real life bountyhunters take down their mark with WEAPONS from a distance they never EVER walk up to thir mark and starts slapping them in their face, DEVS BH need a caretaking here to make a BH a true BH
Did you see Boba kill a Jedi? I didnt, i seen him die a scroat death in a sarlaac pit. As far as jango i seen him kill 1 jedi before his head was lobbed off. When i was a BH i felt very inferior firing repeatedly at a jedi and getting 1 shot of 15 maybe to hit. There are some weapons that should not be able to be blocked, LLC should be a gun that should have a bonus to bypass LS block. LPs should not be able to be blocked hardly. Scatters should do at least 3/4 damage because there is no way they could block 4 independant bolts at once. I am still trying to figure out how they block flamer rounds.
Have you ever seen real life Bounty Hunters? Watch some sometime, they knock on doors and tackle people. Rarely do they ever shoot somone. Maybe in the wild west of hollywood, marks were always more valuable if brought in kicking and able to be publicly put on trial.
As far as the definition of a BH, it is anything you can do to bring the target in. If your a Judo expert that carries a Glok 9 doesnt that make you more deadly then somone that can only shoot at a target but as soon as they get tackled they get their throat slit. My point is having all your eggs in one basket does not neccesarily meen your the best at what you do.
