Thread: Combat Xp?

the only way to get good rate of combat XP is to kill stuff
I would not really worry about the Combat XP, at least not for the reason you are citing. Flurryshot2 is nice to have, but Flushingshot2 is the more important AE shot below Master. Flushingshot does 4x damage and both stuns and raises posture. The stun is more effective overall thanthe Dizzy. If the stun sticks, it will always do something for you. If the Dizzy sticks, most of the time, it is just an annoyance to the target. If they do not change posture, it really does not do that much for you and even if they do change posture, they may not fall down.
Besidese, the main benefit of going up Rifle Special Abilities is to get the additional speed. The need for speed at this point is mitigated somewhat by using faster rifles (either naturally or through speed slices) and speed powerups.
With the bleed/grenades techniquenow considered and exploit, there is no way to significantly boost Combat XP. You can throw a few grenades while killing the creature with your rifle. This will boost the amount of Combat XP you are getting, but since the grenades non-Commandos can use do so little damage if they hit, even though they give you all Combat XP for that damage, it is not going to be worth doing this very often.
But the truth is, like Barb said, you are just as well off not worrying about the Combat XP. You will get 10% of the Rifle XP as Combat XP for each kill. By the time you get to 4 4 4 x, you will usually have enough Combat XP to be most of the way into x x x 4 as it is. Thus, it itakes just a little more time to kill the creatures necessary to get all the way to 4 4 4 4.
So just go for what you want within the rest of the tree, and the Combat XP will work itself out.
