Bring Grenades everywhere you go. When you do missions, use the grenades on the creatures OR chuck them at the lair. NEVER SHOOT THE LAIR if you want it to work 100% right.

Or become a Combat Medic, get Master CM Support and buy a bunch of single poisons and diseases. Using a poison and a disease on a Giant Baz Nitch, and I'd get 4k pistol xp, and 2k combat xp per Nitch...got 80k combat xp in an hour or two last night...was awesome.

Does anyone know how to get Combat xp as a rifleman? is there a trick to it or anything that i am not aware of, because at the rate im going, ill probably get the other 3 trees and max out rifle XP before i manage to get flurry 2

Ive heard something about bleeds, lairs, and grenades but i don't know what thats about. Also, whenever ive found a grendade and tried to use it, it misses so ive pretty much given up on them

any suggestions would be great, im really looking forward to the rest of the flurry-shot rifle ablities branch

the grenade and bleed trick is a confirmed exploit now. TH addressed that a few days ago check the dev tracker. but i doubt they are going to enforce it since it was not widely known as an exploit.

the only way to get good rate of combat XP is to kill stuff you will be around 20-40k short of combat XP at 4443 if you started with almost no combat XP. takes about an hour to gain that so its no biggee

I would not really worry about the Combat XP, at least not for the reason you are citing. Flurryshot2 is nice to have, but Flushingshot2 is the more important AE shot below Master. Flushingshot does 4x damage and both stuns and raises posture. The stun is more effective overall thanthe Dizzy. If the stun sticks, it will always do something for you. If the Dizzy sticks, most of the time, it is just an annoyance to the target. If they do not change posture, it really does not do that much for you and even if they do change posture, they may not fall down.

Besidese, the main benefit of going up Rifle Special Abilities is to get the additional speed. The need for speed at this point is mitigated somewhat by using faster rifles (either naturally or through speed slices) and speed powerups.

With the bleed/grenades techniquenow considered and exploit, there is no way to significantly boost Combat XP. You can throw a few grenades while killing the creature with your rifle. This will boost the amount of Combat XP you are getting, but since the grenades non-Commandos can use do so little damage if they hit, even though they give you all Combat XP for that damage, it is not going to be worth doing this very often.

But the truth is, like Barb said, you are just as well off not worrying about the Combat XP. You will get 10% of the Rifle XP as Combat XP for each kill. By the time you get to 4 4 4 x, you will usually have enough Combat XP to be most of the way into x x x 4 as it is. Thus, it itakes just a little more time to kill the creatures necessary to get all the way to 4 4 4 4.

So just go for what you want within the rest of the tree, and the Combat XP will work itself out.

i know this might be answed somwhere already but is there a safe way to multiply combat xp im a cl14 w/ marksman 0/4/0/3 and im trying to find a way to expedite getting 44000 combat xp for working towards an elite.

p.s. i usualy only solo.

Combat xp is a straight percentage of total weapon xp. If you gain 500 pistol xp from a kill, you also get 50 combat xp. If you switch weapons mid-combat, you might get 300 pistol xp and 200 rifle xp, and you'll still get the same 50 combat xp.

I'm pretty sure medic xp doesn't count towards combat xp (and reduces your weapon xp since some goes towards medical), so you might try using stims instead of bactashot.

Basically, if you focus on maximizing weapon xp, you'll get more combat xp as a side benefit. It can be done solo, but it can be tough. If you can get into a high CL group even for a couple of play sessions, that might get you over the hump into an elite prof.
