I am considering buying a full suit of composite armor, right now I am a Human with my mind stats maxed and my Health and Action at the bare minimum. I was wondering on the full set of composite which piece should be sliced for Resist and which pieces should be Sliced for Ecum. Thanks.

No armour just buffs and bio clothing/skill mods and food
If your using carbines you kill yourself quicker using them than getting hit by them and armor makes it much worse :/

I was under the impression that the slicer couldn't really control the effect. It either enhanced resists or reduced encumbrance, but basically at random. Is that not true?

Yes, it is random, but you can sometimes buy pre-sliced armor.

Ah, I see what you mean. That's probably what I should do for my next suit, then. I bought this one and then had it sliced, so some parts are more effective, and some are lower in HAM penalties.

Last time I was in-game, the norm for good Composite on Starsider was 80/67 not sliced, and if you get good effectiveness slices you can get up to 80%+ resists on everything. Just find those clothes and armor attachments (you can wear certain clothes under the armor) and you'll be pretty bad ass.

"So does anyone know how much it would cost me? i know its based on server but thrs got to be a ballpark range? and how long would it last me on the average?"
I'm curious about how long it lasts as well. I've heard some anecdotal stories that it can last less than a day for melee professions. If that's indeed true, the TKM ftw for us n00bies starting out and grinding up.

Hmmm well guys ive been TKM for a long time and have not had to worry about armor but have recently been thinking about dropping TKM down to 0100 and picking up Swords to make me even better in PVP my ? to you is what is a cost efficient armor to wear that will provide good protection in pvp but not cost a bundle when it comes to relace it... which will probably happen often as armor degrades so fast. i hate the way padded looks but if that is my only option so be it... and what kind of stats should i look for in my armor?

well
RIS is by far the coolest because of its rare factor. you can get all the components you need fairly easy now.
Faction armor looks cool too.
Probably though you are stuck with padded unless you want to go for RIS. The only other choice is bone and padded will be cheaper because the ASs make it more often.

I like the Marauder Battle set, all apart from the helmet
It looks very rough and ready, and the chestplate is a little Samurai - Obviously the RIS is more Samurai and I do love my set, but that's for special occasions

Nobody answered your question...
It's simple, buy armor with at least 6000 resists to all and you will have equaled your TKM innate armor.
Your next step is to find a Master Armorsmith that can do that for you.
