Weapons and Armor

  • All weapons will do a base damage of type of two possible types: "Kinetic" or "Energy". Several weapons will do additional elemental damage of one of the following types: "Heat", "Cold", "Acid", "Electrical".

does anyone know if that means lightsaber damage is being removed?

Whos knows. They said jedi were already set for the CU but now they're saying we may get to respec our skills afterall. I think anything is possible at the moment.

I love the cu update, a lot of good stuff there..

what i first and foremost love the most is the removal of needing a buff to fight.. thats my nr 1 change that i love.. also nice that hitpoints are going to be based on your combat rating..

also that they are tweaking all combat professions including jedi is good, i hope and believe that they will add some new cool stuff to jedis as well as balancing out the different jedi trees and making defender and power users fully competetive with healers and enhancers.

i don't want to jump to any conclusions but i am guessing that they will let us reroll the jedi skills just can't change the actuly FS skills or they would have specified that because lightsaber is technicaly a elite proffesion just requires that you have fs skills

Actually Lightsaber will probably end up being Energy/Heat damage. That is if those documents included Jedi weapons in them. We will probably have a wait a bit an see.

I agree that health will be based on the Masteries or skills we have. However for us Jedi that didnt want to do the std 2masteries and a 4xxx4 tree, we are gonna get screwed big time. This is what im concerned about. Now im glad i stopped pvpin. Imagine being -4mil xp in teh whole and having to grind that back out so you can get 2 masteries to have a higher health pool. I guess im just kinda concerned.

With any luck it will be tied into skill point investment, and not neccessarily weighted against the levels of boxes you have choosen....

while nice in theory, I can't see them doing it that way :/ A partially finished Jedi could stack his template full of low boxes and use up his skillpoints and just wait it out till the CU. Having said that, they could change the xp requirements, or whole trees could vanish, we just don't know.

It's just a case of wait and see - we really need to test this hard when we get the chance.

TH, I just want to make sure i am inferring from the document properly: This finally confirms that jedi will get a respec along with the other combat professions. Is that correct?

Not yet, but things are leaning that way.

Ok, I just have to ask this:

What was the point of the Jedi revamp? From just reading that post by Blair I'm assuming Jedi is changing just like everyone else lol. Just name one issue, all the specials in MLS will have to be changed after all half of them seem to be targeted at pools that will no longer be attackable.

Also I'm really intrested in what Weaken will do in this system. Not to mention wheredoes LSdamagefall into this system lol. I have a feeling our sabers are giong to change to energy.......I just hope that means we get armor back.

bah all I can say what a massive waist of dev time back in publish 9 if Jedi is changed as much as I think they are going to be. We've had to deal with a nerf this whole time and we are still getting more lol. Man, I feel exactly like when I was a MCH.
