Thread: Devs where high on crack ?

The difference in protection for 8000 energy VS 6000 energy is 8%.
Negative.
The protections on armor were another of the changes in the CU that really upset a lot of us AS types. Like everything else these days, it seems that armor protection is subject to the new Dev philosophy of diminishing returns.
There were a couple threads in the AS forums about this and it has been tested by a lot of folks, including me. 6k protection grants right around 50% protection, there has been some discussion about this, because the numbers seem to vary based on damage type sometimes, might be as high as 51.25%. Theoretical armor with 10k protection (which is not possible) we figure would top out at 60%, so for everything over 6k-8k+, you are looking at a total of around 5-6% or so. Another AS ground out all the numbers and I don't have them in front of me. Moral of the story is as long as you are getting 6k or so, you're fine. Protection above that is not really going to do a whole lot more, and will probably cost you at least twice as much.
One thing I will note being messed up about BH armor is the overall condition. With the exception of the bracers, all other BH armor pieces have the same condition as other normal craftable assault armor, topping out around 48k. Faction armor by comparison, tops out in the neighborhood of 60k. To my mind, BH armor should have at least as much as faction, and probably more, because of the difficulty getting the schems. The BH bracers I made yesterday had 100k+ condition, so I don't know if the devs meant to have all BH armor be 100k condition, like RIS, or 48k or so, like normal assault armor.

Nothing wrong with kinetic stats on my armour pretty close to 8000, layered correctly they will give over 6k energy resists, if your armours crap I woould suggest its down to the crafting, expect to pay a lot of money for decently crafted layered BH armour even more with health bonus's. A top spec set of BH armour will sell for in the region of 25 mil.
The resists for the armour are determined by cores and layers for BH armour same as any other type, the schemes themselves dont set the resists. BH armour is no weaker than any other assault classifiation armour

BH armor can be craftedwith the same stats as ANY assault armor. If the AS uses top notch materials, cores, etc. you can have the best of the best assault armor stats.
I could be wrong, but I believe his problem is if you Energy layer it (to fight Jedi), both stats will be sub-par
And in my opinion, yes, it's ridiculous that we were given Assault certs. We are a ranged class, our NPCs use energy damage, and our PC bounties use energy damage. I honestly don't care if it would mean opening Mandalorian armor to other professions. Hell, I'm never getting my own suit anyhow and I doubt the vast majority of us will either.

1000 = 10.5%
2000 = 20.0%
3000 = 28.5%
4000 = 36.0%
5000 = 42.5%
6000 = 48.0%
7000 = 52.5%
8000 = 56.0%
9000 = 58.5%
10000 = 60%
Over 6000 without the AS

I used the search feature for the board and came up with this. Don't expect any set of Assualt armor to beover 6000 with the ASusing almost PERFECT resources, which for the most part isn't partical.
If you have a crafter charcter in this game you will know why.
And what can I say if you really need that extra 6% go MCM, MCH, or MCarbs.
