The same can be said about Rifles, because you sure the hell aren't going to be out of their range when most Jedi have Force Run, Snare, and Root. You''re permanently snared wielding a Rifle and your snare sucks. Rifles are good vs Power wields though since they have a zipbar that forces them to stop.

Well I'll disagree with you there because I can manage it just fine, but I'm talking about root.

The idea behind picking up root is so you can stay out of the Jedi's range for about 20-30 seconds and fire away. If you've got a rifle, you might end up in the Jedi's range most of that time, but for that 20-30 seconds he can't hit you but you can hit him. But if you've got a pistol, you need to keep within the Jedi's range even during that 20-30 seconds.

So what's the point in rooting someone if you can still be hit while he's rooted? Might as well put the SP into something else.

jedi range 33m, pistol range 35m....are you saying you can't manage to stand at 35m of a rooted jedi?

with m pistols you got a good root so you can keep your distance

Pistols have a 35m range and powers/saber throw have a 32m range.

What's the point of root if you have to stay in range?

45m range if you have one of those special cyborg arms

I've played pistols and rifles. I'm currently rifles now.

I like rifle more, but I have to admit that pistols are better than rifles when fighting jedi.

With all of the best action regen food, cap SAC rifle, SAC pup, booster blue 20% action regen, I still lose action. I have to use ranged/placed when I get low and then alternate my specials.

With pistol it is possible that your action never goes down and you can fire your best specials all day. Not to mention you can have 400+ base DP pistols just like you can rifles. Most jedi worth their salt won't spend their fighting time at 65m. You'll be fighting them more in pistol range.

Pistol is capable of doing the same damage as rifles really and they never run out of SAC. Not to mention that pistol has root.

The best template for fighting jedi is: MCM, MBH, rest pistoleer or any variations of this template. It's a fact that jedi have the most trouble versus them.

I'm an MBH, MRM, 4/0/0/0 in some of the best equipment around. I rarely die to jedi and I do well against them. I try to be unbiased though. I don't have a big ego about my spec. So I can tell you from an unbiased point of view that MCM and pistols is the best when fighting jedi.

I got a BH/CM right now and the rest is clogged with FS skills. When I unlock, Ill be bringing a character from another server over into my extra slot which was heading for MCM/MBH/Pistol0004 but having played this template, while great, its just not my bag. I was thinking of doing MBH/(insert ranged prof here)/ CM4000 but Im not sure which to take either.

Is carbineer decent, cause I was looking at the SAC and damage potential of diferent weapons I like using and some id like to try and its pointing me to carbines. Well, that and the stylish battle armor available.

How do you work your first series of attacks.....myself i just became a MBH and going to be a MR....

I need this advice because i use to be a MP before CU

First off, if you are gonna hunt as a MRifleman/MBH/ XXXX you need to have patience and plenty of it. Yes, we can do an incredible amount of damage but you're not gonna do it running right up to a Jedi and unloading on him. Gotta use your skills. /cover is an excellent tool if used right. My first attack is usually either a concealshot or a snipershot after taking Pyro and using /advancedaim. I hit a Jedi this weekend for 2400 damage on my first strike. My follow up shot was a critshot and he went down. None of that would have happened though if I had just charged in for the kill. Riflemen are suppose to be snipers, keep that in mind when going against a Jedi with this type of template. Also, having +359 in Accuracy while holding a rifle doesn't hurt either /grin I also have stoppingshot available to me with my template so if they do try to run, I can hold them in place.
