i think armorsmiths can put lots of energy layers in to make good energy assault...

I've seen BH armor with 6500 protection accross the board, not as good as recon, but looks way better

The best energy resist an armor smith can get on a set of Assult armor is 6120, which is far less supireror to my 8120 energy resist armor.

Numbers break down from the AS Forum:

Armor Stats

What the heck do these numbers mean?

The four-digit number on your armor is technically the independent variable in a quadratic equation forpercentile resistsmapping the domain [0, 10000] onto the image [0, 60]. In layman's terms, that means that the armor rating signifies a percentile resist (as in the old system) ranging from 0 to 60%. Because the equation is concave quadratic, you get diminishing returns for higher resists.

The actualfunction is: 60 * (AR/10000) + { [ (10000 - AR) / 10000 ] * (AR/200) }

Which reduces to: 0.011 * AR - 5E-7 * AR * AR

Some hard numbers:

1000 = 10.5%

2000 = 20.0%

3000 = 28.5%

4000 = 36.0%

5000 = 42.5%

6000 = 48.0%

7000 = 52.5%

8000 = 56.0%

9000 = 58.5%

10000 = 60%

Thats a big jump ouch! You I dont get why Assult armor has the lowest resists to energy that if you manage to get mando it would not even be as good to as Ubese or Tantel to hunt Jedi ? they may not change it but it dose not mean it was big over site on their part. Considering how hard Mando is to get it should have max stats like :

7k Kenrtic

7k energy

6k base

The armor is hard to get and should have a added bouns even if a small one IMO

As for BH Armor I simply use it for PvE and and Tantel for PvP

I had a Master Armorsmith make me a BH Armor helmet from a dropped loot schematic. It had: 7400+ Kinetic 5400+ Energy and everything else......combined with my 2400+ PSG.........that sounds pretty good........am I wrong........should we have better armor than that???

no you didn't, the max energy is 6200. There could have seen something that was made before slicing changes and sliced for a higher resist, but it would not be 6500 base. Besides even if it was a pre-smuggler change peice, you would want the AB slices instead

I just wear my BH armor like a set of clothing pretty much..just to walk around and look neat in..lol

On the other hand, my Jedi armor is a set of Ubese which, IMO is the dumbest looking armor in the game..But hey, it takes a lickin', has a as* load of SEA's on it, and gets the job done...
