Millermix,

Are you saying you couldnt go past 711 max damage (meaning that is the hard cap)or that 711 is your max damage based on the original gun stats?

Well, it's a quest weapon, which means they are probably all the same before slicing. Make sure it's not already sliced... It's not on the list yet so either nobody here has sliced one enough to care, or they didn't hit any caps. Most quest weapons don't hit caps under this system anyway.

Exactly, the Nym's Slug-Thrower is a quest weapon which is why I dont think a weaponsmith could help me out. Also, not all Nym Slug-Throwers are equal! The one I got is one of the VERY best.

Slug-Throwers can have SAC in the mid 90s (mine is 82) and damage that has a base max of 550 (mine is 696). The only thing that is standard is the speed at 2.2. Also, the Slug-Thrower I have is not sliced yet (thank God).

I found some newbie who didnt know better who sold it to me for 10k. Normally a Slug-Thrower like mine will easily go for over 500k. The money I dont care about though... However, there is only one other Slug-Thrower like it on my server for sale ATM so I dont want to screw things up. I hope the quest based weapon wont hit a cap under the current system but I really would love to be sure.

Again, I direct you to the Carbineer forum, you have a much better chance of finding a subject matter expert there than here.

I suggested the Weaponsmith forum because those guys are sharp as tacks and seem to keep up to date on this kind of information. I believe they have an entire sticky dedicated to weapon caps...

Nym's Slug-Throwers are not a profession specific quest. It is actually a newbie quest (go figure). I already have a thread on the BH forum since I'm hoping another fellow BH has had the same idea I had... So far nothing.

I'm sure you guys know there are plenty of people who think 2 dimensionally. They just look at DPS and nothing more... They dont pay attention to SAC, min damage, and damage type... These are things I do pay attention to. So, I understand the typical player probably isnt going to realize the potential of the Nym's Slug-Thrower which is why there probably isnt more info on it... They just see damage is under 800 so it must not be as good as that Proton Carbine... Not true at all
