Thread: TANKS: Fix for /duel (credit: LemiOkeaf, for his creative idea)
thanks for the credit .. just so everyone knows .. here is what I wrote in another post:
there is currentlya box for declining all invitations to group.... why not have a box to decline all offers to duel?
So that when we are hunting jedi we can just turn this box on.. that way even people we dont know can spam /duel/enduel at us and we will never know. All they will see is a message saying "lemi okeaf has declined your offer to duel" over and over again as fast as they spam.

And, your idea does sound like a good work around. But not a solution. Some BHs are solo hunters. We don't all have friends to /duel with when we are hunting.
/bump for attention and DEV response.
Not sure if it would even work but there's always plenty of BHs around Kaadara. Just challenge another BH to a duel, doesn't have to be anyone you knowand then go off and do the mission.
out of curiosity, how does it spoil the first strike exactly? The jedi cannot hit you first using this tactic, he only knows that you are there for him. You still get to choose whether or not the time is right. If you get the /duel, simply leave and try to come from a differnet approach. If you are there being seen, then you have already given up much of the element of surprise anyway. The solution to this for the BH is not to be seen until ready to actually initiate combat. I have yet to have my BH get the duel message-I am out of site and out of mind until I choose to close in for the attack and kill. Instead of just standing there waiting for the jedi to get low on health or force, why don't you actually sneak up and ambush him? I understand that this happens most often when you are loading into a city, but to get around this, I never fly into the city that I think the mark is in or grinding from-I go to the nearest and swoop to my target. Just my two cents as I get so tired of seeing calls to fix this. Let's have the devs fix more pressing issues like stun and dizzy from confusion shot actually doing something instead of just putting pretty halos around heads and adding to the rediculous light show we have now?

When a /duel is issed to the Jedi's mission holder, he gets a message saying he can not duel because the person can attack him already. Thus spoiling the first strike.
How about alowing the /duel to go through, but not alowing the chalenged to accept. For example: I get a /duel from a Jedi have a misson for. If he leaves the /duel and I hit accept, I get a message that states "you can not accept a duel form XXX, he is already attackable". If the Jedi sends /duel; /endduel; he will not get his warning
TA-DA! Fixed
Some one call the DEVs and let them know about LemiOkeaf's idea.

Hello, o, o, o, o, o.....
What's the chance of DEV or even our Correspondent replying?
Sometimes we just want to know we have been heard.

what would happen if you took a mission then challenged a fellow bh to a duel then went off to do your mission?
do duels get cancelled after a certain amount of time or when u move too far away from the person you're duelling?
was just wondereing if you stayed dueled with the bh and a jedi challenges you to a duel he would get a different message like "bhname is already dueling" or something?
sounds like youve never done fun mass duels.
/bump for Tanks or Dev response.
Not a petition, do not /sign. If you like the idea, /bump for Tanks or Dev response.
MY IDEA
/sign
this is a great idea, and a very solid fix.

Add-in from LemiOkeaf: "I think the key thing is that they have a box to decline ALL offers to group ... why not have a box to automatically DECLINE all offers to duel?"

What about when BH use to do /duel on Jedi so that Jedi couldn't fight back until they did a /duel and /endduel? Funny how the BHs didn't think that was an exploit OR a issue that needed to be fixed.
