thanks for the credit .. just so everyone knows .. here is what I wrote in another post:

there is currentlya box for declining all invitations to group.... why not have a box to decline all offers to duel?

So that when we are hunting jedi we can just turn this box on.. that way even people we dont know can spam /duel/enduel at us and we will never know. All they will see is a message saying "lemi okeaf has declined your offer to duel" over and over again as fast as they spam.

/bump for attention and DEV response.

Not sure if it would even work but there's always plenty of BHs around Kaadara. Just challenge another BH to a duel, doesn't have to be anyone you knowand then go off and do the mission.

The easiest fix for the /duel is to just be a better BH and not be seen coming in for the attack. But seriously the /duel doesnt work all the time I honestly have tried it twice with my Jedi and both times it said you challenge XXX to a duel so I cancel and go about my grind next thing I know bam bam game on..But with my BH I just go in swooping full speed with targeting macro going and click on swoop in toolbar..swoop stored first strike is mine and all I see in spatial is where did he come from. I guess this is why I dont get the /duel attempts on my BH I dont give them time to do it.

How about alowing the /duel to go through, but not alowing the chalenged to accept. For example: I get a /duel from a Jedi have a misson for. If he leaves the /duel and I hit accept, I get a message that states "you can not accept a duel form XXX, he is already attackable". If the Jedi sends /duel; /endduel; he will not get his warning

Some one call the DEVs and let them know about LemiOkeaf's idea.

out of curiosity, how does it spoil the first strike exactly? The jedi cannot hit you first using this tactic, he only knows that you are there for him. You still get to choose whether or not the time is right. If you get the /duel, simply leave and try to come from a differnet approach. If you are there being seen, then you have already given up much of the element of surprise anyway. The solution to this for the BH is not to be seen until ready to actually initiate combat. I have yet to have my BH get the duel message-I am out of site and out of mind until I choose to close in for the attack and kill. Instead of just standing there waiting for the jedi to get low on health or force, why don't you actually sneak up and ambush him? I understand that this happens most often when you are loading into a city, but to get around this, I never fly into the city that I think the mark is in or grinding from-I go to the nearest and swoop to my target. Just my two cents as I get so tired of seeing calls to fix this. Let's have the devs fix more pressing issues like stun and dizzy from confusion shot actually doing something instead of just putting pretty halos around heads and adding to the rediculous light show we have now?

but I have had others (non jedi) spam "duel" at me while I was fighting a jedi ....

The jedi wasn't trying to get out of the fight... but his buddies sure did want me to stop .. so they were trying everything .. offering duels .. sending me tells. I was surprised they didnt start asking me to group.

I've had people spam it to me After I finished off a jedi .. because they thought they were so tough and wanted to take on the BH that killed their buddy.

I want to be able to Decline ALL offers to duel .. even from NON jedi.

If i can auto-decline offers to join groups .. I should be able to auto-decline offers to duel

declineing all offers from duels would be cool, i read another post of some1 being on an ignore list and the jedi spamming /duel /end on them, would be like killing 2 birds with one stone

do duels get cancelled after a certain amount of time or when u move too far away from the person you're duelling?

was just wondereing if you stayed dueled with the bh and a jedi challenges you to a duel he would get a different message like "bhname is already dueling" or something?

sounds like youve never done fun mass duels.

MY IDEA

1. It is an exploit to use /duel. Reason: Using a game feature for its unintended purpose. Duel is used for iniating acomabt with another player. It is not tocheck if the player approaching you is a BH and to check to see if he has your Jedi Mission.

2. Simple solution: Change the range on the /Duel command to 5 meters. This will solve the problems and if a BH gets within 5 meters of a BH for some reason he deserves to be discovered.

What are your thoughts.

When a /duel is issed to the Jedi's mission holder, he gets a message saying he can not duel because the person can attack him already. Thus spoiling the first strike.

Add-in from LemiOkeaf: "I think the key thing is that they have a box to decline ALL offers to group ... why not have a box to automatically DECLINE all offers to duel

this is a great idea, and a very solid fix.

What about when BH use to do /duel on Jedi so that Jedi couldn't fight back until they did a /duel and /endduel? Funny how the BHs didn't think that was an exploit OR a issue that needed to be fixed.
