All recon styles can reach the same cap, the appearance is just that, a nice look 
For energy layered armor the following energy caps exist
Assault 6200 (comp, chitin, BH armor, Mando)
Battle 7200 (RIS, marauder, padded, bone)
Recon 8200 (mabari, ubese, tantel)
These caps assume perfect layer resources expect to see something between 8000-8188 as a max possible on the various servers.

energy layered recon has 6000 elemental. Jedi powers are not stopped by armor so its irrelevant what your kinetic armor protection value is.

Because the amour secs for the BH profession are assault.....
Hence why its assault
I know to well the armor allotment for BH.. Mando historicaly was one of the very few armors that could actualy defend agenst a Lightsaber. Thus Recon would be the more appropriate classificiation in my oppinion.
Then again since when did this game go by what Lucas imagined?
