I am at MasterBh master Carbs, without weapons or armor or foods i am at 145 melee 170 ranged. Add + 3 to both for the spec ops back back brings me to 148 173. Add the 250 from dueliest stance brings me to 398 and 423. now add in 7 +25 carbine def plates. which is a total of 175 to both. 573 melee 598 ranged. assorted melee plates brings total to 655.+80 in ranged plates brings me to 678 ranged.. And i have an odd man out +2 ranged def ca in shirt i wear.thundercloud is plus 90ish bringing the ranged total to770 I can still add aakuan rings for another +10 to ranged and i have plenty of space in an ubese shirt for more ranged melee and car def. my armor still has 6 open slots where i can stack in more melee and ranged plates. But i have yet to find any worthy of putting in em. Don't want to waste a slot on heavy weapon speed bahhhh. Mind you this is with a duelist stance macro running. Minus off the 250 from 655 and 680 and that's my defenses running around with a carb euipped. Lol carbine acc is 370 and speed i over did it and wasteed some slots because the returns are hardly worth it but my speed is 225. Once i got past 170ish the returns are hardly noticable.

Just curious as to this power.. so I figured I'd ask the experts.
Duelist Stance (and Improved Duelist Stance)
What does it do exactly? Can it be used while wielding a melee weapon? Does it stack with Improve Center of Being?
Do you as a Bounty Hunter use it frequently?
Any other advice/help/tips??

Yes and no, Duelist stance (or advance stance) is a form a defense. When you use this while fighting this give a defense rate BUT when the npc/player/whatever attacks you, the hits from them comes back to them as the duelist stance reflects it off of you.

You need a ranged weapon equipped, so you can't stack it with COB. It's basically a ranged version of COB. The defenses work against both ranged and melee, but reflect only happens versus ranged attacks. Reflect is pretty minor anyways, but the defense mods are very high and will allow you to tank for a long time. Bottom line is use it as much as you can - I used to trigger it before traveling to spaceports SF to help avoid gankings.

COB you need to equip a melee weapon (or none), then you'd have to switch to a ranged weapon before you could activate duelistic stance. It is possible. I have done it while grinding a friends template (MBH / TKM, good way to have caps on 4 weapon types plus never need to buy armor).
DS gives you 250 extra pts of defense.
DS will often make your opponents miss.
DS will make your opponents hit you for less damage.
DS will "return fire" when being hit by ranged attacks (return fire does a whopping 25 pts damage)
Notes versus a Jedi....
DS will NOT lower the Jedi's damage output as much as you would think. This is because sabers have a min-max damage that is very close (about 100 pts, i believe).
DS WILL cause a jedi to miss you a little more often. So it can be good that way, especially since most jedi don't have gobs of melee accuracy.

Does it stack/can it be used with Center of being and Improved Center of Being?
Do you have to have a ranged weapon wielded to use it? Or can a melee use it as well.
And does the reflect ability reflect all incoming damage from ranged or melee attacks?
Thanks ahead of time if you can help

Thanks for all your responses.. was thinking about having either TK 0100 and MBH or going some melee prof + BH 3000 to stack the CoB and Duelist stances..
I'm still not sure if this is viable, sound like it would be a pain in the butt. However if might bear some testing
Thanks again guys

i have a bh toon as well as my jedi on separate accounts. the jedi is MLS so i tested him against my BH and DS helped very little against an MLS, but it did help. but seeing that most jedi i know have scatter shot their skill point accrossed many trees most are not MLS so it will help a little more against them.
