Generally, I think you are within your rights to hunt same faction, as the mechanics allow this. This will not endear you to many people though, so if you make that choice you deserve the hate tellsthat will come your way.

But please, do not use the "I'm a BH, its my job to kill criminals" garbage. You are trying to roleplay and justify your role in the SW universe when you do this, butit doesn't hold water. A proper BH would be completely neutral(blue dot) if things were as they should be, and the question of faction hunting would be irrelevant. The simple truth is that anyone who hunts same faction either A) doesn't care about faction, or B) is trying to gain an advantage. If you are the former, then you shouldn't be in a faction in the first place, as it should be for a Bounty Hunter. If it is the latter, then at least own up to it and stop trying to justify it as doing your job.

I can live with the same faction hunting, but at least be honest with yourselves as to why you do it. You cannot in one breath claim that it is your "job" as it fits in the SW universe, but then conveniently ignore the fact that you shouldn't even be in a faction in the first place.

It is your choice but later on if you wish to become a jedi or if you want to go overt, I take it you don't, No one will help you no one will guild you.

The guild issue might become a problem later on. Our guild has a lot of members in it who frown on hunting the same faction. My response to that is that BH's, Jedi, and Smugglers should have their own faction to begin with, and that a BH is supposed to be ruthless.

Anyway, back to the original poster.I think the only thing you did wrong is to acknowledge him after the job was done. Are you a Bounty Hunter? Then be one. You killed your mark, he's dead, that's it, the end, job done, moving on.

In fact you should make a macro to that effect....

/r I'm not in the habit of talking to corpses, get out of my head Jedi.

/addignore (insertnamehere)

If the Jedi wants to moan about his losses, let him know that he'll have to do it to someone more sympathetic than you.

Bounty Hunters are about the only profession in this game that have a real opportunity to roleplay their part right now. They have a very defined role in the star wars universe and RP'ing is a good thing. Use it.

If the Jedi in the game RP'd more, they wouldn't be on the terminals so much.

And you know, at the very least, BH's and Smugglers should have their Jabba Faction, and be able to appear as the purple dot to both sides. Does anyone remember the Jabba faction that was supposed to be in the game at launch? and then "soon after" launch? hehe.

I hadnt hunted jedi in a while, and i was doing this only with Doc buffs and Comp armor. So i took a 45k (base price, he was 180k total) mark.

I tracked him ect ect, and found him missioning with a group. He was lvl 59 and had about 10 Banthas on him with 300 health left. Bang bang... i shot him down... Bang bang he hit the ground (sorry song running through my head ) anyhow and i killed him

I did /tiphat and left.

Now one thing before i get into the core of my point is we were both rebel. I was fine with this, its my choice and right to decide if i wish to hunt rebels.

Anyhow first tell (it was in french so i decphired it and i may have made 1-2 mistakes)

"Wow.u attack rebel jedi thats bad."

I replied "I aplogize, i am a bounty hunter. Just because you share my poltical affilation does not make you a ally of mine"

He then says to me:

" u r unfair"

I reply "I am a bounty hunter, we dont play by the rules"

(Heres where it starts to get my head scratching. I am a hunter he is my pray. I do this for money, there isnt room for mercy. And one shouldnt expect that)

He then replies "fine if i c u in pvp i wont help u"

I reply, trying to be mature "That is your choice and you have a right to stick by it"

He says "how much $ u get on me"

"180k i believe"

"Ok"

Alright so i figure thats done with.

Then he says "I lost 500k of xp "

"I was 100k from a new skill "

(Now i wanted to say "If i was sympathetic to that i wouldnt be a hunter" But that was a bit harsh for my taste)

So i reply with a sigh "Thats the price one pays for reaping the bonuses of being a jedi"

Its over, he stops sending tells. Now sorry for taking so long but a few things i wonder about are as follows

1.Why should anyone expect me to play by the rules. I already spent two droids on you, i find you. If you didnt wanna be hnted you can generaly stay off the terms. Also i wont wait fora 'fair' oppertunity to fight when your not being swamped by Banthas. Thats not my job. Really fair play shouldnt be expected from me.

2.I dont care about your exp. Sounds cruel, but i dont. Your prey to me, a animal. As i wanted to say, if i was sympathetic to the exp lose then i wouldnt be a bounty hunter.

Basicly what im trying to say here, is to all jedi who may read this. Please understand those two points...

Thanks for reading.

In my case I dont care too much for the GCW, Im imperial because I wanted to try the imperial side, my other toons are rebel and neutral, I might as well finish the set. Having grown up with the films, Im sorry guys I rooted for the Rebels, In no way was I gutted when I saw the deathstar blow up. Should every true imperial player have been in tears when the emperor dies? My BH is Imperial, he carries out the emperors orders (and he has a medal for doing so ) The emperors orders are the ALL jedi die, the emperor places bounties on imperial alligned jedi. Imperial BH taking on imperial Jedi isnt messed up, Jedi taking on Imperial faction is whats messed up. Its like bunny rabbits campaigining For vivisection, or Cows campaigning for better quality beef.

Imperial Jedi you are supporting an emperor who wants you dead.

I LOVE HOW YOU TOLD HIM OFF, finaly someone tells the realm of those Jedi. This is the time of Vader, he gives us bounties because he loves us. We hunt the Jedi for the credits because he hates them, we do our job because we love the credits. The Jedi is there job to defend themselves against all odds because they hate bounty hunters. We bounty hunters are here in this galaxy to play the most unfair way, we are the ones that get the edge of combat, we are the ones who need to be ahead of others, we are the Bounty Hunters.

Just a problem, I wont hunt my own overt kind, reason (They help destroy rebel bases ) Though he knows what he gets his chara into, become a Jedi, become hunted by every freakin hunter in the galaxy. He knows he must stay hidden and secluded.

Hmmm what to say. Well personallly i dont hunt jedi they arnt worth my time or my effort. i can make the same amount of money in space grindng the day away up there should i feel the need for cash. The reason i personaly dont hunt jedi is because i hate it when i loose time, Nothing get's my goat more than when i have spent hour's or day's etc working on something to have it fall appart get deleted vannish or fail miserably. So i can sympithise with being a jedi and loosing the countless hours of grinding manotiny just to accieve something to have it taken away from you in a matter of minuts or seconds.

That being said It is in ones own parogitive to play in our own way jedi choose to be jedi they must accept the good and the bad that comes with that. As we choose to hunt jedi we can expect a litany of abuse of some sort or another for it this is what we must accept. That's the life we choose I dont care wether people dont like me or not that's their issue not mine (though i do like to get along with people) but at the end of the day i play for me and accept what comes with the play style ive chosen.

Here are some questions for you:

- Why are you a rebel?

- Do you know what being a rebel is and what it does imply ?

- If greed is your only motivation, and if you see yourself as a hunter and the other as preys, why do you need an affiliation (if not to surprise your opponents better as they won't see the regular blue dot on radar when you approach them, being of same affiliation)

Can a bounty hunter not dislike the imperial controls, the limitations on weaponry the stop checks etc etc, and thus support the rebellion as a means to overthrow the dictatorship? But not necesarily support every policy of the rebellion. I for one dont support every decision my chosen political party makes!

I see no conflict with a active rebel BH fighting a rebel Jedi. Its just a job, who cares what his political leanings are, a bounty is a bounty. He was a rebel colonel?

Tough luck.

I dont seem to remember the rebellion being big on slaughetering peaceful herding creatures for the hell of it either. Jet im pretty sure that same rebel colonel has stuck his sabre in a few peace loving bols in his time.
