That's classic! Very nicely done. However, this is exactly why I feel the xp loss issue should be revisited. You didn't intend to actually HURT the person behind the keyboard, you just wanted to enjoy your content. He might have found the humor in it as well, and/or actually enjoyed the fight, had it not wiped away hours of his work/play. That is the source of the hate tells. Losing approx. 450k xp is unpleasant.

And before I get called a troll, I was a BH way back in the day, and also later in the day, as it were. I never knew/thought much about the xp loss the Jedi suffered, just whether or not I accomplished my mission (back in the day when Jedi could gank US, I often did not).

Well at least the Jedi have the Ryatt trail now. . .

I think it would be nice if Jedi could buy some kind of bounty insurance--something like the equivalent of their bounty, by paying which, they would only lose the cash instead of the xp. If you don't want to lose the money, then take the xp hit. Pretty simple. For me, 225k credits is much more acceptable that 450k xp. And I'm fully templated, but heck if I want to spend the rest of my gaming days at -10 mil xp.

Games should be fun, don't you think?

The xp loss is in there as a difficulty factor, in a vane attempt to make the Padi grind worth something. Without some sort of penalty system, evreyone would unlock and grind to full template in a couple of weeks regardless of their PvP skills, devaluing Jedi even more than it is now.

Remember that Jedi is a PvP oriented profession, taking the PvP element out of the grind will just fill the ranks of Jedi with Bol and Wookie grinders (Ooops too late!!)

Hmmm, this is not quite right. (However, I understand what you mean). But think about it this way: Pre-CU it was possible to be a "Day-1"-veteran, unlock Jedi and finally grind to full template without a single PvP-fight. Just dont get on the terms.

Now Post-CU most pads are on the terms right away and get a lot of BHs after them...

PvP-Skill has nothing to do with grinding Jedi. Playing a Knight, yes.

Feeling more confident, I picked up a Jedi mission (low level to start) and to my surprise the mark wasnt on Kash. Probot comes telling me my mark was found on Dantooine, so off I go. To my dismay, there wereabunch ofpeople in town... Being my first Jedi mark on BloodfinI didnt know how I would fare and I knew low level paddies could be dangerous as they still have the skills of their old professions... I didnt want to get my ass owned by some green rookie Jedi in front of a bunch of people...

Anyhow, it is just a silly game and it is all for fun anyhow! So I'm like what the hell. I hit my /tar [Jedi name] macro and get ready to go down in a blaze of glory... Till I saw something that caught my eye... My mark had a M. Doctor tag up... Well hell... In that case... I go over and ask homeboy for a buff. I mean, it cant hurt to ask right?

He is like sure, just have a seat. He and some friends were going on a hunt and he had one moreguy he had to buff before me... I was like, "thats cool man, take you time". So he invites me to his grp while I'm waiting... I ask how much for the buff and he told me not to worry about it... He said he had a spot in the grp if I wanted to come along. I told him I appreciated the offer but I already had a mission.

Well anyhow, my turn comes around and he gets to me. He buffs me up and I thank him. I insist I tip him 10k for his troubles and start to walk off. I get 45m away, hit my food macro, whip out my carbine, lay down a KD, crit, leg, root, crit, leg, crit and he goes down.

He sends me a nasty little tell (to which I 100% understand) to which I just told him, "And keep the change man". I think I like this scum of the universe thing

shouldve said something like "keep the change, you filthy animal"

Another myth is that you cant grind solo post CU - I say BS to that. The real truth is that grinding solo post CU is not that difficult (from experience not anecdote) but the xp bonus from grinding in a group is now MASSIVE compared to pre CU.

What you cannot do solo now admittedly is get doc buffed and steam into the middle of a lair throwing grenades or spamming AoEs but if you can play the game you can grind solo. Jedi is not supposed to be a 2 week (in some cases 2 day) grind.

And PvP has EVERYTHING to do with Jedi, Jedi is a PvP oriented profession. PvE oriented Jedi = Ranger with a torch.
