Thanks Loc
Since its beginnings the Scylla BHA has always had no allegiences nor faction rules. We tried to only have 2 simple rules:
1) Novice BH req't. (I know some chapters use Inv III as a minimum also)
2) No griefers wanted
We wanted to keep the rules minimal but we started having problems without having a clear ruleset. Even among BHs you will typically not get 100% agreement on what is and isnt griefing.
What I would recommend doing is establishing a baseline Rule of Engagment for the guild. Clearly these rules will ultimately reflect how your guild is viewed on the server. You may not care, but having a guild with a "bad" name is not fun.
Right now, the Scylla BHA is working on rules of engagement. Again, there are only few rules:
BHA Rules of Engagement:
1) BHA members may hunt ANYONE they choose to regarless of guild or faction. A single mark may be hunted multiple times within reason. Intentional griefiing by "excessivelyt" hunting a single mark is not condoned and may result in BHA council action against the BH. (We leave this a bit vague because it is hard to define excessive).
2) BHA members may use any tactic they wish to employ to complete their mission so long as it is not an exploit.
3) AFK Jedi are ALLOWED to be attacked and killed. A Jedi who goes AFK in a public place is aware of the risk they take and therefore are legitimate targets.
4) Jedi who go LD after combat is initiated are fair game and are allowed to be killed.
5) Jedi who are found LD BEFORE combat and where it is impossible to determine whether they are LD due to legitimate connection problems , are not fair game. This rule is out of respect for the gamer who cannot control their connection. HOWEVER, as stated in Item 4), if it is reasoable to believe that the Jedi went LD to avoid the fight then the mark becomes fair game and may be terminated.
6) Grouping: BHA members may group with each other or members of other guilds to complete their mission. The BHA does ask however, that the group size fit the difficulty of the mark. That is, a group to attack a low level padiwan (<100k) should be avoided if possible.
These are NOT the BHA established ROE and right now the Scylla BHA council is hashing over these as we speak. And dont expect any ROE to please everyone, not other guilds nor all your current members. But I believe having a clear ruleset is important.
Once you have established a ROE, then you need to figure out what consitutes an infringment (how much proof is required, etc) and how you enforce these rules.
Ah, the joy of running a guild.
