Unless they have a way of showing who isnt sitting AFK in a house on the outskirts of a planet they can basically go and get .... some new subscribers. How do you prevent taking on a mark that is AFK/House-sitting now? Same goes for 1v1 on a MASSIVELY-MULITPLAYER-ORPG. U dont like the BH/Jedi content?

The name thing cant happen. Its the single most retarded idea ever. Say like, on Kashyyyk...how do you even know who your mark is? You have to target every jedi...thats not practical. Or how do you know you dont pull a guildmate?

The very notion of removing Jedi names is absurd.

There are a number of problems with the possible removal of names and mission payout from the terms.

1. You track you target down and he's grinding in Dant but he's being attacked by numerous creatures blocking your sight of him. Now I have to hit tab, tab, tab until I get him as I won't know who to put in my /target macro.

2. As mentioned, if the mark is Kashyyyk, are you suppose to target every jedi you see and see if he's attackable?

3. What if I don't want to attack certain jedi for whatever the reason but I could pull his mission but I won't know that until I get to him.

4. What about those with finished templates? Most BH won't go after them solo. But you won't know be able to have a friend or 2 help you. And if they remove the payouts, you won't even know he's a knight or anything.

Now there are going to be a number of jedi will whine about how they are under constant attack by bounty hunters. My answer is the same as it's always been. Learn the rules on how visiblity works and stay off the terms. It can be done even now.

In all reality, the blame for this goes to the few bad eggs that ruined it for everyone. The devs unfortunately had to use this method to correct the problems that were occuring.

Low level paddies were getting exclusively hunted by bounty hunters. High level one's weren't getting hunted that much at all. Which is more than likely opposite of what the devs envisioned. So to correct it, no payout amounts so both will be hunted equally.

People were getting the same person's mission over and over and over again. Or targeting people from a certain guild, or targeting people they didn't like, or targeting someone with a funny name. BH's were just plain targeting people. So to correct it, no more names.

Jedi knew that if 5 people held their missions, they could get 5 bounty hunters to pull their mission, and in effect have a very slim chance of being hunted. So to correct it, no more names.

And looking to the future. If there truely will be a 1 vs 1 system put in place. then again, no more names, since a jedi could have a bh pull their name and never be hunted.

While the devs created a situation.A few in thecommunity took advantage and exploited it. Now unfortunately, they have to fix it to the detriment of the entire community.

Removing Names - This is a good idea. This change will help prevent Jedi from having friends pull their missions so that normal BH's can't take them. This will also help prevent griefing by BH's constantly taking the same persons mission.

Removing Payout amounts - I think this is a bad idea. I frankly wouldn't take any mission unless I knew what the pay on it was. It's my opinion that this was not implimented in order to prevent paddy hunting because not every BH is going to be at the same level, and I think every BH or every player for that matter will hunt targets that fit into the level of difficulty that they are comfortable with. If you make this change then you will be looking at high end BH's pulling low level paddy missions that they normally would not, and you'll get the other end where you'll have new BH's that don't have a clue what they are doing yet that end up against fully templated Jedi. The BH's must have a way to tell what general level their target is in order to hunt in their range, without this most people will no longer hunt Jedi because they will end up getting missions that 90% of the time are either fully templated Jedi which are near impossible to solo, or they will get the poor low level paddies which are a joke to solo. Either way not knowing what your getting yourself into when pullinga mission is a bad thing, especially given the amount of time it takes to hunt and track a target.

"First of all, I think taking the names off the missions is a bad idea. Perhaps someone has a friend in a certain guild, or of a certain faction, or even a neutral Jedi friend. I personally wouldn't want to accidently take a mission to kill a friend, only to find out their identity after an hour of hunting."

Personally I think the benefits mentioned in my above statement far outweights the ramifications you mentioned. I would much prefer to have to ocassionally drop a mission if that meant that other jedi couldn't be immune from the terminals because they have 5 friends holding their missions, and also if it can prevent BH's from specifically targeting and ganking a certain Jedi in order to grief them.

I prevent it, by not going back to the terminals and taking the same mission again. Removing names from the terminals makes it very possible that i get the same mission again. It just creates more problems as they arnt attacking the root of the problem.

I do like the BH/Jedi content, however SOE manages to completely **** up everything it touches. Id love to see it done properly, but nerfing it is only going to make people leave the game. I enjoy hunting in groups, its a multiplayer game, if i wanted to play by myself ill go buy an console system.

I don't think taking the names out makes sense either. There are tons of BH that due to their guild affiliations are no allowed to hunt particular Jedi. This would force them to waste arakyds and their personal gaming time only to find a Jedi they can't hunt. I suspect this will cause many BH to just finish the hunt and worry about their guild later, and in turn this will cause a lot more tension between in game buddies than there needs to be. The real terminal issue is here:

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=bounty_hunter&message.id=447968

I've had this happen to many times to count and the solution, I personally think makes perfect sense.

-Hey SOE, here's a novel idea. Instead of trying to get new customers to replace the lost ones. Try fixing the bugs so you get new customers and KEEP the old ones too! Next time you delete a post that puts SOE in a bad light, think about giving us reasons to put you in a good light instead. ...you see when someone buys the game it means they want to like it. When they cancel an account it means you made someone who liked the game dislike it. How's that good business again?
Where does a 90% drop is customer base equal good business? SOE

Well just so we are clear from what i read. you get the name of the target from the Spynet NPC with the Bio sig. Thats why i feel its not a bad thing for the name.

Hmmm, early enough to drop a friend/ally, late enough to prevent griefing? I can't tell...
