Bottom line - if PC Bounties aren't implemented within the next few months, I will forfeit all of my BH points and do something else. I can chase NPC's around all day as any other profession in the game; half the reason this game appealed to me so much was because of the idea of being a ruthless bounty hunter who could hunt down and murder other players while they begged for mercy.


The other half was mostly spaceships, swoop bikes, Jedi, Sarlacc pits, and owning a huge house =P

I agree with the pvp bounties, what point is there if we are only doing npc missions and destroy missions......boring. Also I want to say I am sorry for spelling errors. It is 2 in the morning.



Now I haven't read all the posts but I have some great ideas.......and some ideas may already have been said. But like I said, I didn't read all of them.



Someone said something about special missions....if you don't finish a special mission then a bounty could be placed on your head..... Great idea, yet I think this needs a little fix. Occasionally I have noticed that some mission disappear, now it isn't fair to the player if that happens, so they should implement a "bounty" cost. Much like a faction cost....example..... if you have over -500 points then a bounty can be placed on your head. Likewise once you complete the mission, if your in the negative you get some points reduced. Meaning you could take a bountyoff your head by completing more "special" missions.



2) I also liked the faction points, with this you could include not only Player factions, but NPC factions, like Jabba, Valorians,Demons, ect.....(can you tell I play on Tatooine). Say if you are over -1000 points with Jabba thenhe or someone in his palace can place a bounty on your head.



3) Players who have a bounty on them should have the option to pay off the bounty. Better to bribe the bounty hunter than die. Thiscould cause the bounty hunter to get a bounty oh his/her head. Wouldn'tthat be fun.


4)There should only be a few bounty hunters allowed to partake in the same bounty....Like 2 at a time. If the bounty hunter is killed then he/she can no longer takeon that bounty and takes negative bounty points, refer to number 3. And the hunted player gains points to take awayfrom their total bounty points.


5)If a player is captured, there should besome sort of cutscene for that playerthat he/she watches and afterwards, they get cloned and go about their business, while the bounty hunter brings back the now NPC controlled character. Of course that could cause some problems with the server.


6)Once a bounty has been completedall bounties, and theoriticly there could be multiple, depending on how many factions that player ticks off.The hunted players points go back to zero and all bounties are removed.



Well thats it. Let me know what you all thinks. Andonce again if I repeated someone elses's ideas I appolgize, it wasn't my intent.

Sign me up for this petition... (and I am not even a BH)


I am 200% behind PvP player bounties being put in this game as we were all told they would be. Other than the sad excuse for a GCW that currently exists...THIS is my #1 concern with the game today!


Without PvP player bounties the BH class is nothing but a purely roleplaying profession...and even though Iam a serious roleplayer, there is only so much fun one can have roleplaying versus a non-responsive NPC character....really.


There are real and viable way to introduce player bounties to this game that will not result in exploiting and harrasment...such as:


1. Limit the number of player bounties that a single player may take out in a given month...say 1 or 2. thus no one could take out bounties on a single person over and over to grief them. If you have one or two bounties you can place in a month...are you going to waste them?


2. Make placing a bountyhighly expensive. If a bounty costs 50,000cr to place, will you want to grief someone with it? Not likely...especially if you only have one bounty to place this month.


3. No single PC can have a bounty placed upon them more than twice in a month. Thus, no jerk can get his PA to all spend their millions of credits and one or two bounties this month to gang-grief a PC character with twenty bounties in a row. Two bounties in a month and you don't have to worry about another bounty no matter what until next month.


4. No Pc can place a bounty on a single PC more than twice in the entire game. Over the length of the game, if I can only place a bounty on you twice and then never , ever again...is it possible to grief you with it...no.


Clearly it is possible to implement this into game without griefing...if the Devs want to. If not...BH is a dead profession IMHO.

I ain't getting paid 6 figures yet but I can come up with a **edit** good BH PvP system that would be hard to abuse... or at least very difficult.


Think of UO's bounty system... It was indeed horribly abusive but cost the complaining parties to front some cash.


Ya got Joe 1337 who is making things rough for the locals. He's an annoying spammer, steals a bunch of kills, let's group members die while he sits and watches from a safe distance.Basically an all around bad person.


So you go to a Bounty hunter mission terminal. Since you're not a bounty hunter you get a different screen allowing you to add a bounty. Basically the name of the character, 5k front, and perhaps a description of what he did wrong and last location spotted. .


But... one person can't make a bounty.. 10 people have to fill out the complaint form and front 5 to 10k. So if 7 days pass with the minimum complaints not met, everyone is refunded their 5 to 10k. Though if the required number complain, the mission is made active and expires after one Month. Bounty hunters can then take this mission. Up to 10 BH's may take this mission. only 5 may group at a time though. So you can have 2 groups of BH's hunting one guy. So each guy could get 10k a piece minimum...


The BH takes the mission, he is then locked from obtaining other PvP missions. His name gets tagged as hunter, and the mark gets tagged as hunted. They both appear as red (or another noticeable color) dots on the radar to each other. Mark kills BH, he loses the mission and cannot partake in the hunt anymore. BH kills Mark, he gets happy reward. Mark suffers massive Battle fatigue and wounds all the way to 1 accross the board. (yeah it bites, but don't do things to annoy people to have 100k+ put on your head..). Plus you need some form of punishment other than die, respawn. 1000 BF and wounds bringing you to 1 on all stats sounds fair. it's a good hour or two downtime.


Bounty hunters cannot make BH missions. This defeats the purpose. The Mark is also added to their frinds list with added tracking abilities. Online/Offline times. Planet spotted on. They go to a city they have a 10% chance of being "spotted" by an NPC. in the wilderness they have a 5% chance of being spotted by NPC's, (this is ifNPC's show up on radar not some random spotting factor if they only run past animals)


Of course this is just a rambling Draft of a good PvP Bounty hunter system.

I agree, there are a million ways that PC bounties can be implemented effectively and fairly by the Devs.

I agree with the PvP option being added, though myself dont like PvP. I like the ideas of only players who have messed up on a mission can have a contract put out on them, otherwise I feel we could see rampant vendetta contracts, ie he screwed up my armor or weapon, or character made my character die when we were hunting. I know a bit extreme but thats what i worry about.


I think though bringing a player back alive would be neat. An old beleif that bringing a mark back alive is worth more money. Many of the stories I've read have Boba bringing a mark back to the contractor.Why not be able to stun the target bring the player back to the city and then the mark gets set free at his bind point without being treated as a death. Give a time limit on bringing mark back to the city say 10-15 minutes that way if mark has friends in the vicinty they can try to free him from the BH. If BH doesnt make it to the city, he loses the contract and mark is set free, and neither of them BH or mark can attack each other.


I just don't want to see I'm a BH and I can kill anybody I want to , which then becomes BH killed me, lets all kill BH. Just too vindictive.
