saber comes out roughly 815-915 damage, 95-100 SAC, 2.1-2.4 speed.
I would love a rifle with these stats, even if it couldnt be sliced or pupped. and can't forget AB available.
Note the word, DECENT saber.
How many post-CU Jedi have DECENT sabers? Or even have the chance to assemble DECENT sabers? Or to put DECENT crystals or pearls into a DECENT saber? How about ZERO?

Not everything given as a quest reward will be a /pwnbbqjedionastick . Easy quests give lower quality items than harder quests or harder Boss's. When the Mustafar team asked for weaponry we gave them something like 5 - 8 versions of each weapon. Some will be better than others. I would guess anything that comes out so soon after the expansion opens isnt from the harder quests nor the big boss kills.
Judging stats from Frog testing weapons isn't a very good indication as all Frog weapons are set to exceed max stats in every way that a could never be made/looted.
The followup post to this puts it well. Are these guns offered just as decorating items type loot? Cause they're not useable as is.
If there's going to be 5 to 8 versions of the weapon added for loot purposes, Mr. B, wouldn't it make more sense that the versions are tailored to various levels of combat? As it is, this pile of cr4p requires master level to use, making it not suited to the intended beneficiary. A lower level of the weapon should be a CL22 version, lower damage for the lower CL, but some fairly nicespeed and SAC.
You guys don't have a clue usually, I'm afraid. More examples of poor planning, poor design, and poor project management.
Here's a clue, leave someone with some good loot, as I described, so they walk away with a "win," that "well, this one's suited for a CL22, and a good one for someone at that level, so I can use it on an alt toon, or I can give it to a guildmate, or I can sell it, cause its a good gun for that level." WIN ? Get it?
*knock on skull*
And btw, thanks for driving off 80-90% of my guild and destroying the economy (nobody has a taste for buying profession mods anymore the way things get changed and nerfed,) with Publish 24, while I'm at it.

You guys really want something to cry about? Compare the following:
HIS WEAPON:
- Base Attack Speed: 2.75
- Base Damage: 538-1074
- Elemental Damage: None
- Base DPS: 293.09
- SAC Cost: 127
- Force Cost: None
MY WEAPON:
- Base Attack Speed: 2.65
- Base Damage: 461-557
- Elemental Damage: 167 (Heat)
- Base DPS: 254.83
- SAC Cost: 126
- Force Cost: 36
Yup, boys and girls, that's a post-CU lightsaber. Stats on the crystals and pearls: +76/-0.12/-5fc... +64/-0.2/-4fc... +82/-0.15/-4fc... +94/-0.12/-4fc. Not a single pearl/crystal above "Good" in the bunch; the pick of over 75 tuned pearls and crystals. And note this point well: KRAYT DRAGONS ARE NOT SPAWNING ON BRIA. AT ALL. SO DON'T GIVE ME ASININE ADVICE ABOUT GETTING OFF MY BUTT AND HARVESTING MORE PEARLS. Believe me, I am harvesting crystals anywhere I can find them... Nightsisters, Tuskens, Bounty Hunter marks (!!!) ... wherever.
And that's my "good" saber. I also pack a low-force-cost saber packed with crystals that all together add up to a base DPS of 152, that I use when I just need to score hits on lots of gurks. Force cost on that one is 20 -- low enough to give me an idea of how the other half lives, except that they actually do damage with their sabers. But believe it or not, there are many, many post-CU Jedi roaming around with sabers this bad or worse. Especially on Bria, SOE's first Krayt-Free Zone.
I have two words to say to the original poster. I will leave you, Gentle Reader, toimagine themfor yourself, because they're unprintable.

Oh, so some will? Blix, you really must rethink not only the way you post on the forums but your whole game direction philosophy. There, I knew there was a way to say that without using the word 'moron'.

a decent saber postcu isnt impossible its just harder. and don't forget the precu guys with amazing ones...best i've seen in a screenshot is over max 750
Harder? Aye, I will agree with that. Let's look at how much harder....
During the first half of the "krayt population explosion," I was looting maybe one "Good" pearl for every five random canyon krayts killed. This time frame was when I acquired the bulk of my collection of 75+ pearls/crystals. I and my guildmateskilled a few Giant Krayts here and there, but they seemed to not be dropping pearls for some reason. We even managed to kill an Ancient or two, but didn't get anything.
Then, perhaps a month into the Population Boom, a new loot item started showing up: Mandalorian intraframes. (Gee, when did krayts start wearing backpacks for carrying these things?) These gradually overwhelmed the loot drops off krayts, and pearls became even more rare, perhaps 1 in 15 krayts. And we killed a few more Ancients in this new environment, which gave us nothing but more Mando intraframes.
And then, the whole region around the Krayt Graveyard went dead on Bria, except for the static spawns. Within a 2000 meter radius of the Krayt Graveyard, nothing moved except for the occasional wandering character, a mission spawn here and there, and the static-spawn Tuskens and Jawas and the static-spawn krayt site at the back of the canyon. Random krayts became extinct. Meanwhile, the Force Users on Dantooine stopped dropping loot, and the Nightsisters on Dathomir became stingy. I haven't looted a single crystal off a Nightsister or Dantooinian Force Wielder in months.
The only MObs that have produced crystals for me lately are Bounty Mark NPCs (one "Fair") and Tusken Raiders (two "Poors" in six hours of steady killin' at the static-spawn battle site near the Graveyard and a couple trips to Ft. Tusken). That's three crystals acquired in the past month. The tunes? +18/-2fc, +25/-2fc, and +13/-2fc.
Harder? Aye, it's harder. I figure if I spend the next thirty years playing this game for six hours a night every night, I might have a statistically realistic chance at getting four decently-tuned crystals.
This game is circling the drain.

Really ? just like the Trando rifle hunter Ab1 or whatever? oh sure i see them go for about 20 - 30 mil or higher.. rediculus...So why give it to a WS when they'll overcharge you insanely
Is it just me or did alot of jedi troll appear here?..Note im not calling you a troll implementor, but the above post i observed

we can only charge by how much people who loot the enhancers/components charge. If a set of cells go for 5 mill and the barrel for three. looking at 8 mill just to break even. Someone mentioned this after your post
That being said. I've never charged anything like that for any weapon ever. maybe I would add some extra for something using a +60 scope and all capped and whatnot. 540+min damage is extremely nice. I loot almost all my own stuff and usually charge under the 'market' value of whatever weapon it is by a mill or two. Just gotta find the dedicated and fair weaponsmiths

this gun had a lower sac during testing. alot of crafters posted about quested and looted weapons on the ToW forum being better than crafted. this might be the reason they up the sac on it.
It's astonishing that SOE didn't see the solution to this dog's breakfast they invented:
Make all the weapons capable of thje high end stats but...
...only have the droppable as limited-use/output schematics craftable by WS...
...and only if the WS has the right resources to make them will the final product have high stats.
For the same reason, the cloak and crystal drops should not be repeatable, thus allowing them to camped for hours on end, they should beone-off reward for a quest's end - they should also be tradeable and non-biolinked.
Well, I have an update of sorts on the crystal-hunting issue. Went to Dantooine this morning again, and spent four hours hunting Untrained Force Wielders and Force Crystal Hunters. They've been boosted a bit in CL -- they're now CL-60 instead of CL-50, and I actually managed to loot four clear crystals (all "Fair"), two petrified avian eggs (nice decorations) and a "rare artifact" (a decorative item), along with the usual assortment of CDEF rifles/pistols/carbines and random unenhanced clothing. I'd estimate it's now probably about a 1-in-20 chance of a crystal per kill, just doing eyeball math. But at least I finally got SOME loot off these things. First time in months. Tunes, however, were the usual crap: +17/-0.08/-4fc... +66/-0.0/-4fc... +31/-0.0/-2fc... +36/0,0/-2fc. Another four hours down the drain....

well this is my statement.
"it is not us the looters who determine the price of our loot - its teh market" if i start an auction for +184 power cells at 1 mill with a b/o of 6 mill, and the first post is a WS saying "b/o". how is it my fault?

I dont blame either the WS nor the Looters. I blame the buyers ![]()
Things will only sell for the amount the market will bear.
Cells sell for as high as they do because there is a huge demand and a relatively small supply. Highend enhanced Weaponry sell for as much as they do because there is a high demand.
That being said, when I buy a set of cells and pay 5 mill its very rare that I am able to get more than 7mill for the weapon. That is about 2 mill profit on my side (not counting my expenses on other components/resources)
The BH gets a profit of 5 mill (Not counting the expenses of gear and food)
Since the CU the most I Have ever charged for a weapon was 15mill so saying we overcharge is just a faulty statement.
Also I will charge what the current market price is, as I dont want to stock weapons that will just be bought by a reseller and sold for the marketprice... Its a buyers market simple as that ![]()
