/respec

* All existing characters that have not used /respec will have 21 days from the date they login (after CU went to Live servers) to utilize their /respec abilities. After 21 days the above pop-up message below will be shown to alert the player of their final /respec.

* The Respec timer has been extended for all players who logged in directly after the CU went Live to 6 additional days from today. On the 6th day please read your respec pop-up boxes very closely. Any mistakes made will not be corrected by Customer Service.

Below is the warning message that will pop-up in game for your last character respec: *WARNING* - Your ability to respec is about to expire.

Your ability to respec your character is about to expire. You may still respec your character during this session, however, once you log out from this session, your ability to respec will be revoked. Please make sure that the way your character is when you leave this session is your final desired configuration.

The following is the standard respec message:

You have been authorized to respec your character; that is, to reassign your skills and player statistics. If you would like, we can begin this process now. We recommend, however, that you play with your existing character long enough to determine what you would like your new skills to be.

Click "Yes" to begin the process now, "Later" to be reminded later, and "Never" to never be reminded again.

You may also begin the respec process at your leisure by using the command "/respec".

Actually, most folks took the two week warning seriously. I hate to defend SOE, but their main fault was extending the deadline.

I never got this warning, would have been nice. Yes I know it's my fualt for not writing down the date it would run out. Yes it was really cool they allowed us to be able to do that. Yes the warning box that they say should have popped up would have been nice.

Yes it would be really cool if some how in there heart they would allow just one more /respec for those of us that did not get a warning box. Plz

Im really glad that i know when the last respec occurs, after it occured. never got the warning message, lost all the skills i wanted, no help from devs. oh, and btw, we were writing a column on mmo's, the csr for swg got the worste score out of 8 mmo's. That 17 days it took to get an answer on a friends ticket. Impressive. especially when the average on the other 7 mmo's was 12 hrs. congrats.

Taking my 6 accounts else where, since obviously no one here gives a damn any more about their customers.

I have a question about this respec business too.

I resubbed yesterday after two months away, well before the CU. Well, I logged in and got a respec window, and not knowing what the deal was, I clicked OK instead of Cancel without really thinking about it. My guildmates assured me I'd be able to do it again in 12-20 hours or so.

Well, it's been 27 hours and it still says I'm not able to respec in red letters on the side.

Did I miss out? If so, I'll be rightly tweaked.

Yes sir,

It says something about not being able to actually respec but I can play with the window and the skill boxes.

I'm actually in game now, it says 'You are currently not authorized to respec your character. You may use this window, but you cannot actually perform your respec.'

It's been well over 24 hours and I'm a bit worried now, since I sold all my crafting items to do this I know that was hasty, but hey.

I can speak on behalf on SOE and inform you that /respec works as intended - WE HAVE CHECKED IT! You must have:

a) clicked the wrong button

b) ignored a warning

c) miscalculated the number of hours since your first log on over 3 weeks ago

(useless end-users...)

Note: We have convienced ourselfs that "Intended" doesnt need to be as we informedyou

Do you remember how long it has been since you logged in after the CU was published?

The respec timer starts counting from the first time you logged in after that publish.

i have hadthe same problem, i logged in respec'd and a day later i am no longer eligible to respec

could this be the problem with returning players, i logged in and checked my vetdays (333 at the time of log in) and when i tried to respec my vet days jumped to 360 which is over the allocated time for respec.

just an idea cos i am now stuck with master artisan, tailor and architect which i wanted to get some gear back as i have no money or items to return to the game with

We gave you plenty of warnings and even extended the time more then once. If you can't respec a few days ahead of time realizing that the warning message that we promised you (and spelled out in exact text what would happen)would not appear well then shame on you, haven't you been playing this game for two years and realized by now we don't live up to promises let alone know how to code yet.... customer service will no longer be answering or helping with any situation unless you or locked in a wall (still not sure how you did that one, I mean the game coding is flawless). Thank you for your 15.00 (CS Rep chuckles to self, I can't believe these people are still paying to Beta test this product)
